newsflash, you have 2 baseline stuns in your group, a lot of the time hibs only have 1, stop QQing about it, its getting boring. As for LoS, it effects everyone, its down to lag, except for the little people LoS, you have iconnus do you not?

the los problems are not due to lag, more like the new los system they added in nf which is pretty crap as even the smallest bump in the terrain gives a 'target not in view' message.

and nerf clerics !, baseline stun and nukes omfg op!

It goes both ways. Luris have great difficulty casting and shooting thru windows as most are too high for them. ALso as said by the other poster this is exactly the same for Icconnu and kobbies aswell so less whine please.

I always get whined at when I jump to get LoS over something, others near by say I draw too much attention to their position, at least they don't complain about my bright armor tho. :p

lurikeen's are the only class ingame (that i have found ) that if u pan camera right down to there feet, and close as u can in, u can see through hills/bridge's , actually anything underground. has this anything to do with it i wonder? used to be able to do it on inconnu's in old BG's when u couldn't swim underwater, used to be very handy for targeting stuff while swimming but suddenly u wasn't able to do it anymore.

me and some rl mates are now playing hib/pryd getting ready for clustering if it happen's, and baseline stun is "let's say very handy".

LOS as it is today is all messed up.
If you get nuked through a hill It definetly sounds like the one nuking you
is abusing an old LOS bug. (just like Snakester described)

On the same LOS issue, I got nuked inside a keep on the stairs to the
roof several times and when I tried to face the attacker he was on the
other side of the wall and definetly out of sight from me.

I am also quite sure that is was no gtaoe or other such thing, it was DDs.
I dont remember which keep it was though.

Another classic is when you stand just in front of something and it says the
target is out of LOS. If you care to test it out, go to the cockatrice and
fellwood camp just N of Bold (S of the northmost Bold tower by the water)
The entire area is littered with LOS bugs and it sucks when you practically
stand on the mobs and you still cannot get em in LOS. :eek7:

Regarding character size in RvR.
Apart from the LOS problem in windows there is a world of difference when
you are small and hard to target compared to when you are a tall avalonian
wiz. You will notice the difference when you go from a large class to a small class.

Can't be arsed to check, but it's getting worse than Jaond's and Nalistah's "nerf DF" whine back in the day! ;)

Mythic should allow pbae to nuke through walls again, wonder how many PG members would go inactive after that..

>ps. the los is fine

No it isn't.

There are three problems with LoS in DAoC:

1) The collision appears to be a surface representation (polygon mesh). While easy to code, this sort of collision tends to be plagued with holes unless the content creators are very careful.

It's a lot safer to use a solid representation instead, apart from anything you can completly eliminate the sort of collision bugs where theings start to jitter around or get stuc on corners. You can stop players from entering illegal positions too, or from going so fast they "submarine" through thin objects.

2) The collision is done from the feet (why ffs?).

3) The LoS check is a single ray. Probably done for speed but which start and end point to chose? You can fairly easily construct a situation where you have a partially occluded object (say a player behind a castelation) where the arbitarially chosen points are occluded but the player is clearly visible.
There are a number of approaches to solving this rangeing from multiple rays to frame buffer occlusion methods. Given how fast modern collision systems are (such as the one in Havok the physics engine) there is no excuse for this.

Note this is probably Net-Immere's fault rather than Mythics.

Bottom line: Stay away from keeps and towers if the LoS pisses you off.
