RvR group setup [MID]

Been wondering what people think would be the best group setup for Mid

my suggestion:

3 x Healer
1 x shammy
1 x war
1 x RM Rc spec
1 x SM supp spec
1 savage

since the rm dont have fend he will be running speed so with sprint the travel speed would be mach5 not 6.

Am i totally off here?

Aye, or 3 healer, 1 sham, 1sm, 1 warr, 1 light tank, 1 skald if no good 2nd sm :> . Skald and atleast 1 healer should be sojourner's for zephyr..

I'd say:

3x healers
1x Shaman
2x Spiritmaster
2x Zerker

With sprint this group should be able to run speed-5 (aug-healer), zerkers will have some special 'goodies' in new-fronteirs, so even though a savage outdamages them, their more usefull... (prevent flight, charge, free 25% det)

You should have 2x Bodyguard in this group, no idea why you'd want a warrior in the group... Shield helps a bit, but compared to bodyguard? Slam wont work that well, since AE-stun will be used intensively in this group...

Depending on your enemies, you might want to drop 1 SM for another melee...

Pre-NF this group will already perform very well, but post-NF this group will probably be the strongest out there... No group purge, so AE-stun for teh winz...

Warr BGer ofcourse :p with atleast mob4 , bg 1 sm and guard 2nd , works well atm.

still think that Rm + sm is a better combo then 2 x sm. Very good range dmg + good defence/offence in the supp sm.

But then again probaly because i play rm as main :)


Anyway aleast 2 casters :)

Strongest group post-NF? If you argue that they are the strongest because of aoe stun youre wrong.. aoe stun will be removed along with all the insta mezzes and insta aoe stun.. odd thing is i heard they dont nerf sorc mezz (bolt range and larger area) ^_^

Ehh, where does it say aoe stun and insta mezzes are removed ?

I think someone read some fake patch notes... Insta<everything> is still in the game, as is AOE stun, and yes I do base my facts on AOE stun being very powerfull... And probably the most powerfull spell in any pbaoe group...

A darkcarver in the group might be usefull, so perhaps indeed switch one SM for a RM... However, I wouldnt sacrifice the damage of a 2H zerker for a Warrior because of shield... Even though its probably the only defense against archers, unless a lot of things change, you wont see a lot of archers in fg's... You'll see them more during keep raids / defense though...

But the group will be able to kill much more post-NF then any hib/alb counter part... High melee damage (2x 2H zerker with high celerity), high magic damage (either 2x pbaoe, or 1x pbaoe + debuffed range), aoe stun, insta versions of mez/stun, disease, 4x interrupters (all 3 healers and shaman will have moc1 just for interrupting), 2x bg...

Hmm, think I'll re-roll as mid, that group will pwn... Wonder if we could get them to 50 + get ML8 before NF comes..........

we'll just bring oh...16-17 FG's along and hope that they dont all stick one guy and go afk... :flame:

and warriors get Soldier's Barricade, Dashing Defense and also Stoicism ( the 25% cc reduction ). they will ofc not outdmg a zerker, but they will protect the grp more then a zerker. and can guard 1 and bg the other sm as boogy already said...

Oh I missed that Stoicism was given to warriors, I thought it was only light tanks...

But still, your utlimate goal will always be damage output, both zerkers can get BG, so guard wont do much for the SM/RM's, your biggest threat is most likely magic anyhow... We run with 1 BG atm (Armsman) and we hardly die due to the tanks smacking us, most of the time its due to someone nuking us :p

Ok, 1 warrior then, still, damage output of that group and utility goes above that of the albion/hibernia counterpart...

then u have Loads of instant heals, 8 Zephyr(every 3 mins), Loads of CC, Loads of instant CC, loads of PR !

and have u ever seens a assist train of pure healers ? ph34r :wij:

What did u need a warr or zerker for ?

Pac/mend
Mend/pac
Aug/mend
All 3 with Fz
Shammy with fop
2 x supp Sm's
2 x svgs battlemasters ml8+ ofc

not like u need guard with 2 sm's anyway .. unless u have choka as sm .. but hey thats only us ;(

Hmm, after having hot discussion on #groove.daoc yesterday with some NP, Groove and GP members (NP member left channel, caus he thought that everything he say is right :x ) we ended up with this >>

3 healers (pac/mend :: mend/pac :: mend/aug) - [heals, cc, 3 zephyrs]
1 shaman [cc, disease, and some backup heals if very very needed ;P 200hp]
2 sms [pbaoe, single nukes, pets on support/casters]
1 savage [battlemaster ML8+ for bg, damage]
1 warr/1 savage [bm ML8+ for bg, damage/usual guard, slam]

So .. with this setup u will have 2 BG/Grapples, 2 pbaoers, 3 zephyrs and 4 interrupters :x

After winning mezz tnx to 3185137956135 instas u move in with SM's and BG'ers to PB .. u grapple 2 enemys and they die in pbaoe
After that start singlenjuuuking and if no1 on SM's, tanks can go sexor mages or support. If any1 is BG'd (enemy) then zephyr shit out of them.
Meanwhile 4 seers interrupting enemy healers/casters.
Ahh and SM pets on droods also, since u dont need them to intercept caus u have bg :x

This should be win and I dont get it why mids say that they cant use grapple :x If u want grapple so much, take 2 healers and 1 more battlemaster for extra bg/grapple, caus u know albs and hibs run as 2 healers :x and usualy nowadays 1 of them is 31 rego for good buffs etc .. almost like pac healer heals :x

Cba to think out what u do when u loose mezz :D will post laters ;p

We are considering a setup:

2x healer
dark sm Spec nuke life drain hurts. a bit of cc. and bit off supp. DEX/quick AE debuff
supp sm
supp sm
warrior ml8
shaman
RC rm Main assist for debuffing cold nukes for all the sm's and rm base line. the spec nuke of the dark sm will even hurt more.

if dark sm doesn't work out good. we get a 3th healer.

will nukers be able to do ANYHTING after buff shearing and that ridiculous focus shield and everyon whos rr5+ having AoM5 which will be better than det AND give you massive resists to magic. Its like everyones a hib :(

every mid group needs at least 1 savage to make sure you can solo insta kill a zephyred enemy...

If in doubt, just group savages. Seriously i have watched 2 savages in shade mode take out 2 FG alone, 1 after the other like that game with the moles and hammer. Literally: Pop pop pop ...2fg dead SPLAT.

perma ghey Pulsing root, stops any1 else intervening. then the mezz, then the stun, by which time every1 is RS and useless...
