Is there a php script that anyone knows of where you can get employees to login online and stick their name in a diary or calendar to show when they're un/available?

I've been searching for one for over a week but I don't really know what to look for, thought someone here might have used one before or know what such a thing would be called?

I need for a manager to be able to check online when their freelancers can work, but for the freelancers/employees themselves to only be able to see their own calendars. What would you call a script like that, if one exists?

I'm a software noob, but can't you not do something like that in outlook?

I don't think so, how would I be able to see what you've entered in your Outlook diary from my computer?

If outlook is on an exchange server you can look in other peoples calendars.

Alternatively you could set up a group calendar and everyone can put in an entry to say if they are out...

I didn't know you could do that with Outlook, it's not really what I'm after though as it relies on everyone having Outlook in the first place, and some of them wont even have a PC all the time I think - they're all people driving around the country all the time so they need to login from internet cafes etc.

ezagenda sounds okay but I'd like it not to involve a third party.

The Time Sheets one is pretty close to what I want, I saw that myself yesterday but was a bit dubious about it not being updated for 3 years. I might give it a go anyway.

I don't really need anything too much more fancy than this https://forums.freddyshouse.com/calendar.php - only so each person can add stuff onto the days and the other people can't see what each of them has entered, but a manager can see everything.

You can get web access to your exchange server. Don't ask me how but we have it at our work so you log into this webpage that acts just like outlook.

Hi Maljonic

Personally I'd go with MYstIC G's idea of using a hosted solution. Google Calendar, Windows Live Calendar etc. may all be worth considering. The permissions issue may be a bit tricky, but you may wish to check out 37 Signals' products. They offer calendar solutions which are more tailored to business and/or project use.

Kind regards

I just went to see the guy who wants me to help him with this and he was looking at that when I got there, it does look pretty good and it would be less for me to do.

Thanks dysfunction and Jonty, I'll look into all of those.

P.S. Freddy's is pretty random with the reply notifications sometimes, I didn't know there was all these great replies until I came on today to show my friend the first couple of replies.
