I had a canine tooth done recently, it wasn't half as bad as everyone said it would be. But I don't think they're as difficult as molars. Didn't hurt and was less bother afterwards than it had been before, as before the pain was shooting up the major nerve in my cheek.
Had it back in july, didnt feel a thing. Had anesthetic gel to numb the gum, then 4 injections to totally numb everything else, took about 45 mins to do the actual root canal work, and then had an hour session whilst they fitted the cap/crown about a week later
Do have the odd problem with the crown they fitted, but thats unrelated to the actual root canal work, i need to go back to get the crown ground down a bit, as its too high when i bite down
Had a root canal done about a year ago, took 3-4 visits and didnt quite end up good...
Just be calm about it and relax... its all about the skill of your dentist.
And no, it doesnt hurt much more then a regular visit to the dentist.
