You may not like the man, but he's a great footballer.

Also it's nothing to do with patriotism, I don't think he's good because he's English, none of the other players I compared his shot power to are English. I think he's a good footballer because he's good at football.

I Agree about the commentary last night, it was sickening. Rooney did do well though, for the reasons people have mentioned already, it'll be good to see how he gets on in the Premier League, and against better European teams. If Ruud and Rooney can all produce quality consistently(and only Ruud is a fair bet on that, at the moment) then Arsenal and Chelsea better be worried.

His second goal was class, the free kick good and the first goal ...any half decent striker should have got.

Beckham has been at Real for just over a season yet he has a better goal to free kick ratio than Carlos He can whack them but if its only about that then there would be a lot more footballers out there! Anyone can whack a ball hard, it needs more than that.

Strange. Every game I saw Carlos play in last season he scored a free kick. And I'm sure I saw at least 4 or 5 Real Games and at least 2 Brazil ones.

Sorry but Rooney is shit and over-rated. If he was everything he's cracked up to be, Real would have bought him instead of Owen. There would at least have been more interest on the continent in him than absolutely zilch. Oh sorry, Inter were interested apparently. But Inter are interested in everyone.

I dont think Rooney is the sort of player Real like, he is a traditional english CF with a touch of something else about him. That for me wouldnt suit the Spanish game. To say he is shit too just shows how little you know about football.
