I'm 30 and my brother, my GF, my aunts and my parents all read/have read all the Harry Potter books. To be honest I don't see them as kids books, certainly not the last couple which were far darker than the earlier ones. I hate the films though, they really don't do the characters or stories justice but I guess they have to be cut (I just think they do it badly).

Recently a friend who'd told me they were kids books had to help his son read them as part of his homework and ended up reading all of the books. He'd never admit it to his fellow rugby team mates though
