Thought it was a fucking pile. poor acting, shit fight scenes. And lets not foget the BBC not using a traditional Longbow.

I haven't seen it yet, but it looks interesting. Your opinion seems to be the general consensus though which is a shame. The BBC has come through with some good stuff lately, namely "The Nuremberg Trial : Inside the Nazi Mind" and "Ancient Rome : Rise and Fall of an Empire"

You mean Marian. I thought it was dire. I lost interest after half an hour and just came back in the room for the utterly ridiculous execution rescue. I really struggled to find anything to redeem it; even Keith Allen, who's supposed to be the best thing in it, was doing an inferior Alan Rickman impression. And don't get me started on the set design or the costumes. Funnily enough A Knight's Tale was on C4 later that night, and showed that if you're going to ignore any attempt at historical accuracy, there are far more stylish ways to do it.

i thoguht it was good, on and when he used his recurve bow thats probably from when he was in persia? same with the scimitar, i thought Marion was quite pretty but a rather strange jaw.. anyways the chick at the beginning was hot too, acting is ok a bit cheesy but its the BBC and they have to please everyone, the more stuff about robin of loxley is a good thing for the brand i think.

I don't think you can say "typical BBC" tbh; they've done loads of great historical drama, look at Rome for example. Problem is that this feels more like CBBC than anything else, and they've done it better before.

Just talking about this to my mates we agree maid marian and her merry men was better.

As has already been mentioned Knights Tale totally took the piss of history but it was a watchable movie. I feel like they are trying to make it all poncy and the script is terrible.
