So what did you think to the first episode of the new series?

It was ok but predictable I think though im very dissapointed they got rid of the traditional english longbow.

Acting was a bit dodgy to say the least, but it seemed OK - will watch to see how it goes.

Acting was poor at best (didnt expect it to be good, never lioked johnas in teachers) very very OTT moments, and i also though the sound mixing was kinda poor (some parts seemed to quiet)

will carry on watching to see if it improves though

Thought the blonde at the begining was better looking then marian to be honest.

And yeah the acting is a bit dodgy and I hate how he is playing the sherif of nottingham as a joker who doesn't take anything seriously, he is just irritating and not even in a sinister bad guy way.

storyline : crap
Marian : poor man's Anna Friel imo... don't know what it is, just really reminded me of her, have seen her (Lucy Griffiths?) in other stuff but ... anyways....
Robin : leaves a lot to be desired, he's like a chav but slightly more attractive, and only slightly - bring back Michael Praed!
<me hangs head in shame but doesn't really care>

Think the disney version with the cartoon Fox as Robin was slightly more convincing really.

i thought it looked shit when i seen the advert.
but on another principle i wont watch it either. i PAID to go into the cinema and what was the BBC advertising before the film? this piece of shit. having to pay on two different accounts (tv license and cinema price) to watch a trailer for the BBC put me right off.

Robin Hood isn't even real (according to the ghost walk tour guide who took me around nottingham on my 3rd nght - No ghost stories = 2 things - Either he didn't exist or never died :p).

The program was shite, the acting was poor, the fight scenes were awful and the costume o dear God don't get me started on the costumes..

Pretty dire and Robin wasn't my type, so I gave up after two thirds of the first episode.

I cought the re-run on sunday, and i thought it was okay. I agree with some of the critisism but it wasn't bad enough for me to turn off or give up on it.

There is a differance between entertaining fun and it just being silly.
I know archery has been nerfed but how could 6 prepared archers miss 2 horses and riders charging towards them over a reasonable distance, im not even going to mention throwing a sword up 60 feet to knock out two guards.
opps i just did, sorry.

Yeah those bits were very silly, I had no expectations so I found them funny. But I was a huge wedge of cheese that it didn't need.

I expected on the charge that the people who'd been introduced who hadn't been ones I'd recognised (Benedict, for example), being shot, and the rest getting through.

I thought it was absolute bollocks.

Amateur acting
See-through sets
Rediculous "action" sequences
Maid Marion wasn't even hot
And the village they kept going to (Kings something) looked like Humberton !

Utter pants.

I remember watching this on the Finnish TV as a kid ages ago, absolutely loved it. Thanks for the link, ordered the first 2 DVD sets with Michaed Praed immediately :)

I think there was a special offer for the DVDs too, only 15£ / season!
