Robbed in Ireland

oh great.. I was walking with 2 male friends and a female friend to the city centre (im staying in ireland for 6 months).. we have taken this road for several times before.. (we live 20 minutes from the city centre on foot)

When we meet 3 irish kids in the middle of the street, we say kindly "hey" and just walk on. but they are like WHAT.. WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO US. Not only that, they started throwing full beer cans and rocks at us.. So we start walking faster, close to running. but yeah they managed to catch us kinda easy since the girl was wearing stupid high heel shoes. I didn't really expect this since we didn't do anything wrong. but yeah they came to us holding rocks and beer bottles.. yelling give us your money, cell phones etc..

They threw a rock right in the back of my friend and hitted me and my friend several times on the head.. Luckely I have a quite big head so I'm fine

But I did lose my cell phone and 20 euro..

Why is the irish youth so fucked up? Wtf did we do wrong?

Should we take revenge next time we see them? Let's be honost.. without the girl there would have been alot of blood spilled.. from both parties..

mate you should change that title to rogged in general, not robbed in ireland. you living in dublin or what? that would happen anyware to-be-honest. you probley did the right thing, personally id rather take a kickin that givf over my phone or cash to any little knacker! but if there was two of my female friends with me id probley be a bit different.

only a week ago there was a girl strangled and murdered by a fella i know locally, fucking weird owl shit, not used it in galway tbh, seems much more like a dublin thing, weird thing to say but alot of the galway people dont think of themselves as living in a big city.

dont worry all those lads are ever gonna do is givf u higher tax's for their precious dole, its a gr8 old country init! just be careful man, keep to urself dont even look at anyone, thats what i do anyways.

Worst thing you could have done it spoken to them, just should have carried on. Wouldn't have made much difference some would say, the other thing was walking away. Should have given them a right ear full, pretend or even phone the cops and say "you guys ok to hang around while I phone the cops" once they did start.

Sorry to hear about what happend to you though, doesn't exactly set the day off
