Roaming Birds of doom (the lion things with a bird head)

Heya, dunno what these are called but like a lion body and a bird head and are purple con and roam around artefacts in ToA, i was wondering if anyone knows how to get Neutral faction to these as i killed a few by accident in middle of farming arti's/scrolls with my Animist and they just kill me everytime they run past me now

I think there is a quest in Stygia that lets you regain faction with them. No idea where to get it, though.. Maybe that NPC that gives the Mauskemet faction quest?
