I dont know if some of you on here if any know Grim, aka NortherMonkee? He played CS on GSM, Requiem servers, some of thye KEA Lads may know him, prob mostly Trem. He was ex [707]

Well Dave (Grim) was a very close friend of mine, would go round to his a lot. He was a genius with motors and bikes and a general good guy, would do ANYONE a favour.

Anyways, Dave was killed yesterday afternoon whilst out on his bike. I am still in shock and to be honest, devastated. I feel sick to my stomache.

He was a true gent and I am going to miss him so much.

People like Throd will tell you about bikes and wankers in cars, but the bloke that killed him was a true one. Taxi driver, a disqualified one and driving without insurance at that. I feel cheated that this fucker has taken my friend away. He had a girlfriend with a 10 year old little lad :(

I didn't know your friend at all, for that matter I don't know you. But I heart goes out to you, his partner and most of all his child, truely a bad place to be for anyone.

My deepest condolences Darth, I kno you've been going through a tough time atm to do with other stuff and i'm sorry you're having to go through this as well!! Like J said my heart goes out to you and his family. God why do people who've been disqualified think they have the right to drive!

Awful that your mate lost his life. I would however try not to get angry until the person involved has been judged in court.

Sorry to hear Darth, there are a lot of idiots on the roads.

I hope the guy gets a suitable sentence for this.

I do remember the guy definitely, found this a complete shock. Horrible news, my condolences to all the friends and family he leaves behind.

All road users are capable of being complete idiots regardless of the vehicle and it makes you wonder why so many of them get away with it. There's certainly still a "I'm bigger than you" thing going on from lorries to 4x4 to cars to bikes etc and it just shouldn't be like that - we're all still the same inside or on the vehicle and most of us have families to go back to - this shows what inconsideration causes :(

I think its pretty fucking easy to judge/get angry before he goes court. He was bloody well disqualified therefore should not of been on the road, therefore would not of caused Grim to fucking well die.

I would like to link this to my comment in the I.D thread.

Plenty of english people drive unlicenced brooky. Stop stirring things up and let's just concentrate on what the thread is about.

With respect I completely disagree, but this isn't either the time or the place.

What do you disagree with?

He was disqualified so he should be driving and should of been there?

Doesn't make any sense to me Tom, can't figure out what you disagree with.

gentlemen, while I respect your right to have a discussion, perhaps you should create a separate thread for it.

and Dark Orb Choir, please be aware that the infraction value for your post is 80, and lasts quite a while. look out.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Funeral is a quick one, next Tuesday, I know there will be a massive turnout as he was a biker and also ran VW clubs too so them lot will be out. Plus people from [707], Requiem and GSM will be there too, myself included.

Couldn't believe it.

He was marmite for some but he definitely had character, I always envied his enthusiasm even if we disagreed on what makes a good brew and it was always obvious how proud a dad he was. I regret not keeping in touch, if just to periodically rip the piss out of his poor taste in music.

I'll be drinking the Tetley's this week for you, Dave, best wishes for your family.

Take care, Darth.

he was a dad? :(
Being one myself now means tears easily come to the eyes when reading stuff like this, the assault I witnessed the other day and things like the Baby P issue :(

That's a family growing up without their father for the sake of careless driving :(

Oh Man :(

Dave and I used to clan together in TG back in the QW days. Met him a few times, a proper top guy. Since i left the UK we tried to keep in touch whenever/wherever and promised just one more drink when i returned. Now that'll never happen :(

I've just found some old IRC logs from 1997/8 and have been going through them with a heavy heart.....

My thoughts and wishes to his family - he will be sadly missed.
