Message from Wendy Dio
Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

One of rock musics greatest ever singers. I only saw him once in concert but, despite being a little guy, his voice filled the arena and his presence the stage. Really sad about this news.

Aye, was never a fan but the man inspired an awful lot of people. Condolences to the family.

I saw him in 1980 (or '81, cant remember) playing with Black Sabbath.

Shame, what did he die of?

RIP

Never a big fan but i liked a few songs and have enjoyed Sabbath through all the ages and various singers.

He sure could wail.

Got to say goodbyes, got to influence the world, got to leave a mark, lived a fun, fast and long life.

Nothing more he could ask for.

Goodbye and good luck DIO.

My brother died from stomach cancer just under four years ago; as with all cancers it's a horrible way to die. He was in such pain that I couldn't wish him to carry on. I really thought that RJD had beaten it (found out about this a few months ago) and my thoughts are with his family at this time. The upside I guess is that he had a good and full life before hand - still stinks though and I try to give to charities targeting cancer in any form

I only ever really knew Holy Diver, was never a huge fan.

But still, due respect, RIP Mr Dio.
