I can see that the civilisation line had no future left, tho.

I can't really see what could come after that really, unless perhaps controlling your own dinosaur civilisation. Civ1 was undoubtedly the best and it went downhill from there.

As a confirmed Civ nut, having owned all three versions and played them endlessly, I can say that it definitely did not go downhill, Civ and Civ2 were so full of "bugs" and weird strategy defects that they got boring in the end.
Civ3 has maintained an aspect of not allowing specific tactics to work every time, it is miles better than any of the rest, and the AI will beat you even without resorting to cheating (like in previous versions).

I remember playing Microprose Soccer on the C64 years ago... that game ruled, you could add spin to the ball & everything !!

It was probably the newness of Civ1 that hooked me so well. I suppose the improved graphics and extra bells'n'whistles of the later games just didn't renew my interest in a game I played to death.
I suppose the games themselves improved, but the genre was becoming old and with so many awesome new games coming out I was just getting spoiled.
Did enjoy Colonisation a lot even though it had many flaws

Just because Microprose have a legacy doesn't mean to say someone shouldn't switch off their life support machine. I loved Civilisation, Gunship 2000, et al like everyone else - but their time has been and gone.

2. Forum's are there to discuss a subject or just let off some steam in the offchance someone may know something more on the subject.
3. Far from being a "lamer" Durzel, why don't you grow up a little yourself, since all you seem to do is mince around with Stu and the various other people you ponder these boards with. What on earth makes you say I'm any lamer then you, or the next person. or the next...
I just stated I wasn't entirely happy, and if anyone might have some more information. I wasn't bothered about the rest of Microproses' games, they have been around for a long time in the world of gaming, and it is just generally saddening to see a fairly respectable outfit dropped.
I'm certainly not shitting myself about the possible lack of a decent F1 game to play next year : more to the point, perhaps I'm more bothered about the absolutely wank quality of posts that typically come from the bunch of retarded morons that have nothing better to do, other than troll these forums and slag off the first thing in sight.
Grow the fuck up, simple.
