Um, for him that seemed to be a fairly honest appraisal of US government (Democrat and Republican). He's basically saying he doesn't buy unfettered libertarianism as a model for government. Despite a libertarian streak of my own, I don't see it as being a particularly electable philosophy, and the best I hope for is for a government that tries to curb the natural desire of all government to interfere in everything, rather than one that embraces that attitude.

What's more likely is that they will pick Romney, lose, because the economy is recovering, and decide that they weren't conservative enough. Then they'll pick a nut job next time round and lose even harder.

The problem is, there are no viable repub candidates right now.
Literally 0 that would have a shot at Obama.

The only reason the race is even close is because unemployment is high and people vote out president when the economy sucks ( even though it's republican policies that got them there.
If the unemployment goes from the 8%ish mark back to 10-11% then Obama will lose, if it stays the same, or even a little worse than he wins this shit easy.
