Yeah I saw this, $150k for each track they've had on their site or something. They're still singing the same "we're in Russia, your NY lawsuits can't touch us" song but they aren't breaking Russian law so it could get interesting...

It's a silly amount and while I don't think Allofmp3 have ended up paying all the royalties that the RIAA want I'm sure they have indeed been sending lots to ROMs, what they have been doing with it is anybodies guess. It was also publicised that Allofmp3 started sending cheques to specific artists directly but they haven't really been cashed.

It's like to be one of those grossly inflated lawsuit amounts though, inflated for publicity reasons or something. I don't think anyone can be that stupid as to think they deserve $150,000 per song...

OOOOOOOO, I bet they're quaking in their boots, what with them being in Russia which isn't actually in the USA.

I'm going to sue the BMI for issuing release that are so technically bad, so lacking in dynamic range that they make my ears shatter.

You're sure this isn't a plot spoiler for Austin Powers 4?

“One trilllllllion dollars…”
“But Dr Evil, this is 2006. One trillion dollars doesn't even exist in Russia yet…”

I think it's the maximum they're allowed to claim by law for copyright infringement, don't quote me on that though, nothing to do with actual losses.

What a load of crap - the music industry is using all its muscle to crush allofmp3.com regardless of whether what they do is legal - I was surprised when Mastercard/Visa agreed to block payments to them and now this is just stupid - they dont have a chance of enforcing this!
