As someone who hasn't played AoC at all, which is the better one to get with your preorder?

Good question. They don't exist in game yet, so you would know just as much as any of us. But from what I've read, the Mammoth is better at sieging and battering down defenses. The Rhino has a special charge ability to kill enemies with and moves faster in general, although still not as fast as a riding horse.

Hmm, don't you guys think that everyone will be able to get ALL mounts eventually? I mean this pre order reward thing with a mamoth must be a pr thing no?

I mean most people will preorder anyway since it is cheaper then buying in store, but would be wierd if the people who come into the game in 6 month time or w/e wouldn't be able to get a mount at all, no?


Anyway, a rhino would sure be nice to have at start ;d

tbh am curious are u actually able to ride the rhino at say lvl 1 etc? or do u have to get to about 40 or summat?

Atm there is a level 40 requirement for horses. Don't know about rhino or mammoth, but probably the same level requirement or higher.

Well according to the preorder info i got its lvl40 for mammoth and rhino aswell. And i dont think they will release them to everyone just preorders, but they might release mounts later. I've yet to see a game release preorder stuff to the masses.

To ride any type of mount including the pre-order animals you need to be level 40, as far as I understand it. Mammoths and Rhinos are pre-order only, and you won't be able to get them in game in any other way. Other players will still have normal horses to ride.

There's nothing wrong in giving people, who have faith enough to pre-order, something that is truly unique.

Like i'll go apesh*t at the developers bowing down to whiners, if they put my "free ale everywhere" mug, that's in the CE, to public.

I'm sure you can buy them in game too. Its just a free gift for pre-ordering. Just like giving 1000 gold free if you pre-order.

Based on what I heard from the mount-dev guy, no. Rhinos and Mammoths are meant as a bonus to pre-order accounts. Each character on your pre-order account can go pick one of these babies, along with the other rewards such as the drinking cap and the xp/stamina ring.

If they completely change their minds later on, I don't know. But as of right now their intention is to not let others have these mounts.

I went for Mammoth - looks cool and people keep saying its the 'siege' mount so sounds good.

I also went for the amazon bow too - mainly to get guaranteed early access

If order pre-order with rhino as bonus, then order pre-order with mammoth from somewhere else, can you use the first box, claim the rhino and then claim the mammoth off the other box to add to the same account without having to use the secound box account? ie is it a bonus code to use ingame or is it the mount tied to the account that it comes boxed with?

probably, would probably be to much work to tie it to the clients only. tho i hope they are so ppl have to make the choise.

Well, from what I have read it's going to be tied to an account in that you get the mount on all your characters on that account. This it is fact.

Awesome masterplan to tell the early adopter to bend over...epic fail IMO.

However, I dont care anymore since I just bought the play.com preorder. Thanks for advertising in here, was about to order the US version. A decent timezone is worth the 3 extra bucks per month to me.
