Reverse / un-reverse the mouse???

Does anyone know what the console command is to reverse/un-reverse the mouse is?

I did a script for my mate and it's fine but he plays with the mouse normal and I play with it reversed. The thing is I never put in a command to reverse the mouse in the first place so as a result I'm buggered if I know what to do now.

The command you need is: m_pitch

For a non-reversed mouse the number after will be positive, to change it to a reversed mouse make this number negative.

For the record I am normal like your mate, you reverse mouse freak

I think you can also change it in the advanced game settings within Half Life.

I think we get reverse mousing from {short attention spans quit here } that old chestnut DOOM! -or was it Duke Nukem3D or Ultima Underworld?(classics) I started using mouse/keyboard playing Wolfenstein3D (circa 1992) < /me hides face in shame at age revelation > . By the way I am keeping my original mint boxed copy of Wolf3D as a talisman against future gaming boredom. This was the first game to make my heart pound & my palms sweat!

I got reverse mouse from playing Flight Sims like Elite on the Speccy and F-19 Stealth Fighter on the Amiga.

Yeh played em too.. Played Elite on my Bro's BBC Model B with a joystick though.... (funny old thing that looked straight out of a Maplins parts bin...think my bro still has it... he's to busy playing 2D pool on his ADSL line & 1.4Gigger <cue envy> to come here!) Reverse mousing is for god like people. The plebians do the un-reversed shuffle all by themselves.

I use inverted mouse coz the fire time I used a mouse for a game was for star wars on my Atari ST (520 FM for those in the know ;-)

I remember taking on a wireframe death star, hearing the digitised speach saying... well, supposedly saying, "use the force Luke", but that's debateable.

Imagine a version of cs where everything was wireframed ;-)

Seriously though, I had my brain remounted upside down so that I could use the mose the up for up way. Didn't work out though, my left brain/right brain connections got mixed up, whith subsequent 'logical, numerical, spatial brain-half using emotional, imaginitive brain-half connections' mixup. Ended up being logical during sex and playful when doing the books, very messy believe me!...........

Inverse mouse is actually the ergonomically natural way for a human to interface with an FPS. Yes this does derive from flightsims, as Chetan correctly points out.

It's the naturally correct way for a simple reason, and you'll have to bear with this rather strange example:

• Stand up, head straight, and fix your eyes dead ahead of you.
• WITHOUT moving your eyes, try and look at your feet.

You have to move your entire head FORWARD to look down. The same as you have to move the mouse FORWARD to look down in reverse mouse FPS.

• Stand up, head straight, and fix your eyes dead ahead of you.
• WITHOUT moving your eyes, try and look at the ceiling.

You have to move your entire head BACKWARDS to look up. The same as you have to move the mouse BACKWARDS to look up in reverse mouse FPS.

This proves the fact that reverse mouse in FPS is the natural ergonomic "right-handed" method of using a mouse, and that using a mouse in 'normal' mode is in fact the 'left-handed' and un-natural method.
