resolution/opps name

Two quesions,

I want to increase my resolution when I play cs, but I only run on a little old 56k, so what I need to know is how much of the game is done client/server side. ie will increasing the resoultion increase my latency?

Second one, i read some where recently (probably these forums) that you can change the position where your opponents name appears on your screen and make it appear under the crosshairs. Apparently that option is in the configuration menu somewhere, but i cant find it, could some one be a little more specific plz.

I play on 56k with res at 1274 * 768, no trouble (apart from being shite)
The other bit, if you want the names in the middle, make sure youve got

hud_centerid "1"

in your cs config.
