When i pick server and press "play" i cant get in to the game.. only "rederer creation failed" showes.

Re-install DirectX 8.1, helped here. If that fails try installing DX 9.0.

. I got that same error without ever touching DaoX and re-install of DirectX solved the problem.

yup just re-install DX8.x + and it will work, had same prob, but ok now

had the same problem on my laptop running at 1400 x 1050 resolution. running laptop at 1024 x 768 fixed it

For SIS735 users
For my computer, based on SIS735 chipset, re-installing of DirectX did not help. The problem was solved with installation of fresh (1.12) AGP driver from SIS.
