If u got Nvidia drivers just uninstall em and get the ones from omegadrivers

http://www.omegadrivers.net/

Or, if u wanna use Nvidia ones, get from their site the Overclock util and tweak Gpu and Ram frequency.

I had a similar problem, all down to corrupt software, not being funny here but if you can remember the last time your comp worked ok go to Start/All programs/Accessories/System tools and click on System Restore and restore your comp to a previous date. Not saying its 100% but usually it works.:fluffle:

so there are two issues remaining here:
1) its my nvidia (fx 5000) gfx driver
2) direct x issue possibly

That are the 2 that would be the cheap ones to fix.

There are 2 more:
1) You graphics card is faulty.
2) One of your RAM sticks is faulty. (You can try to reduce the RAM timings if you know your way around in the BIOS. Might help, might not.)

A guild mate of mine had exactly the same problem. He tried literaly every nvidia driver version that was available until he found one that worked. The system stayed instable thou.
In the end he returned his gfx card and the problem was solved.

And again it can be a software or hardware issue. I'd suggest to get the gfx card replaced if it still has got warranty on it. If that doesnt fix it and a clean install doesnt either then change your ram sticks too.

not into gfx drivers too much, but...

It could also be the driver for your motherboard thats not working correctly,
even tho the BSOD says otherwise...

eg. on my old computer I had to reinstall an older version of the motherboard drivers. All because the new slot-drivers for AGP was incomtible with DAOC.

Also in the beginning of the game I had to completly remove my soundcard from the computer (No, disableing it wasnt enough) then it would run.

On a sidenote, about the restarting and everything else working... try a BIOS update, worked on my GFs computer.

As a last resort, you could re-format your computer and redo the install, but try installing the drivers in a different order. On my old computer I had to install SFX before GFX, else some games wouldnt run.

Good luck, there isnt much more annoying that a troublesome computer.
