A few things to try:

1. Reinstall Direct X9b and your video card driver
2. Uninstall your video card driver and install either the one that came with the card or the latest one (whichever you haven't tried before)
3. Check your monitor can run the game at the resolution it's trying to load at (might be using a different monitor driver since you've just reinstalled windows).
4. See if any other game will run (San andreas is a good test)
5. Run DXDiag (start menu > Run> Dxdiag) and run the tests in the display tab

looks like a graphics driver errror. check in your bios that fast write is enabled for the agp slot (assuming u have agp gfx). Then go to control panel ==> system ==> harware monitor and uninstall graphics card. reboot and reinstall card drivers, reboot again......

sorry its longwinded but this should solve the issues.

Is the one with the bluescreen the one without SP2? You might wanna install that then.

Oh and about the redercreation failed error on the other one: Rename the file user.dat in the camelot directory to user1.dat. Sometimes this file gets messed up and since it contains info about your gfx adapter and resolution to start the game at it can create this error.

Just remembered 1 more thing: Did you install the AGP drivers for your mainboard on the machine with the STOP error? If not you might want to do that too.

Well, when you look into your computer to the gfx card you'll see it connected through a slot and there're (basically) 3 different types for that: PCI, AGP and PCIe. I googled it for you, no problem, your gfx card is connected via AGP. So what Jeriraa means is the following:

You check out the CD that was given with your motherboard (should be something from Asus, Asrock, Gigabyte or so). Put in the CD and look for a thing called like AGP Miniport driver, they're called like that on most systems. Install these drivers, restart the system and try again.

There is another thing I saw when checking for your gfx card. The nVidia 5000fx is an AGXx8 card and they sometimes have problems, so if you know your way around the BIOS, try to lower the card from 8x to 4x speed. It will cost you some performance, but it might help. Hard to explain how to find it in the BIOS though, as it's different depending on the manufacturer.

And about these Intel Chipset drivers. If you haven't installed them, do that aswell =)

Hey there,

I had the same problem with my ATI card and it took me almost a week to finally find a driver that worked flawless. A good thing to do is to check camelot support web page and see what drivers they recommend for nvidia chipset based gfx cards. I am almost positive its a driver related issue because I used to get blue screen saying that "ati2dvag.dll" caused an error. Something similar to yours I guess. so yeah try to find a driver that works with yours.

/cheers

Hey again,

What do you mean by "My computer just restarts"? Does it restart when playing DAOC? Does it restart just after it starts? What have you done to it to make it restart? It would help if you could be more specififc :)

the drivers your system uses are automatically set to the correct place, so no worries about that. If you want to get rid of the old drivers, you can delete your gfx card in the hardware properties of your computer ( dunno english name for it, only got German Windows =)) ). After that, reboot the computer and start at 0 with installing the gfx drivers. This way you can test multiple versions. Try out the one provided with your card, try out the newest from nVidia homepage.

Btw, u're not the only one with problems in that direction, someone posted a similar thing on the french technic forums, but not many replies there and all of them were mentioned here already.

The file nv4_disp.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

according to dxdiag

the newest drivers from nVidia homepage should be WHQL signed....but that's not much an issue, WHQL is only some Microsoft bullshit to make people believe their system works :p

But wew at your problem....it's hard to say more without looking at it atm, at least for me :/

I'm sorry but I don't have any other idea atm :(

Jenifer,

I would go ahead and download SpeedFan and monitor the temperatures on your gfx card. However, I am almost positive you are having a driver issue. Like I said it took me about a week to find a good driver that works with my pc.

Try to see if there is a software at Nvidia's website that helps remove all the gfx card drivers. Also , like the above poster said make sure to install directx 9c if you are runing DR client. I am sure your problem will be solved once you find a driver that is stable with your system.

heres the deal... i just found out that directx *real* version is 9b but i have installed 9c and it does say 9c installation complete... but then on dxdiag it says 9b ...

According to all the posts i have tried various drivers, checked my ram (is working) cleaned out and tested my fan (40-50C is not bad imo, so thats working) clean isntall of windows twice (so its not the iwndows).

so there are two issues remaining here:
1) its my nvidia (fx 5000) gfx driver
2) direct x issue possibly

Thank you all for your help, unfortunately this still isnt resolved :( so any mroe suggestions or links to helpful drivers / good nvidia (fx 5000) drivers u would suggest would be great!!! im nto very good at finding a 'compatible' driver... if it says new i dl it - oly cos i dont understand much hehe.

Also if anyone would be sooo kind as to send suggestions on how to remove Directx compeltely form my system and possibly send me directx 9c (cant dl itform windows cos of some validation error - which im not going into!)

also you can find me on msn at tkloel@hotmail.com

Once again thank you all and if i do solve this problem besure to find a HUGE thank you post to all those who helped and a 'sticky' how to solve this problem hehe post

Directx can not be uninstalled as far as i know, only updated, you can dl it from here from one of the mirrors at the bottom :

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=835

As for graphics drivers you should try Omega drivers, which you can aquire from this link :

Here :)

/edit also try to update your windows to SP2 as next option (google.com for free dl links) , turn on auto update to get the rest of the updates, that doesn't require legal windows or any tricks with IE to get :p.
