Watched the BBC's coverage of Remembrance Day and observed the 2 minutes silence.

Very emotional.

There are only a few surviving soldiers from the first world war alive now, including one - the last survivor of the Battle of Passchendaele, age 109. The oldest is 111.

Always watch the Rememberence Day things on tv.

Its a shame though, all those died for a free Europe, free from facism. Now its gone slightly too far and the slightest bash against another race or religion means you get castrated by the pc Government. Plus, Britain is heading towards being ruled over by Brussels

I was working at the time but a band played down the High Street with a lot of people following and everyone on the pathways stopping and watching as they walked past.

was at paddington station at the time with my girlfriend. was suprised that everyone stopped (apart from two very annoying foreigners).

Why surprised ? Its a fitting tribute where the nation remembers the dead. For all the millions of people who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we're here today, I don't think two minutes of reflection once a year is too much to ask.

of course i paid tribute to it. i always do and wouldnt dream of not doing it. i meant that i was pleasantly surprised that the whole of the station came to a complete standstill. never been in a situation that busy and it was really touching to see.

On Sunday nearest to the 11th of November there is a parade past the memorial down in London. On the actual 11theveryone hasa two minute silence to remember those that died in service of this country. Started after world war 1 & 2 I think, but now it is every war that Britain has been in.

Also with any football or sporting events, a 1-2 minute silence is held before the match.
