Of the arb stuff:

I remeber thinking level 30 was uber.

I remember xping in Kaolinth and Corus because there were no drops and the cash was awesome.

I remember being able to tour Cursed Forest because there were no mobs there yet.

I remember being able to pull Crim patrols all the way to AMG to help wipe out Albs and Mids.


But funny how as long and tedious levelling is, those are where the real memories come from:

I remember getting pl'd at blackthorns and going from lvl 5 to 10 in just a couple of hours. I couldn't believe how uber that was.

I remember spending about 8 levels with the same group in Treibh because pulling from the ledge at the bridge was the fastest and safest xp around.

I remember grouping with the old MW crowd (Alderian, Thanatlos, Kainz, Motorhead, Thalassean, etc...) in Corus and farming weeweres for hours on end.

I remember being part of Hib's first pbaoe group with Matinex, Shliq, Elance, Nilj, Miss and a couple of others at the black wraiths near Alain Binn. Xping in Hib has never been the same since...

I remember being asked to group with the highest level players in Hib at the time and having some of the best times I've had in the game. Nova, Cuth, Tylar, Motorhead, Kainz, Nicky, Balnor, Gaya and no doubt a few others I've forgotten. Xping on Cruach demons in Breifine, Gorborchends in CF, Banshees in the Bog, Archmagis in SC (trying to get Tylar that sodding staff) and eventually Crim fins and being grouped with our first two level 50's when they dinged just a few hours apart.


The game goes on and new things come and go, but those early memories of playing and xping your first char are the ones that stick. As frustrating as it can be, when I look back I realise what it was that made me enjoy this game so much...

YEah I remember treibh too.. that was awsome now days nooone goes there I also remember whener eEveryone was waiting for groups in Innis even if almost everyone hated it at that point

and yeah remember in beta when I was in RvR with my level 10 ranger adn had no idea what stealth was but ran around stealthed all the time and saw some hibbys pulling guarrds and whipeing ou the mids and albs bute it was usually the mids that kicked our butt they were so many

bah i missed this thread till now.

Too many memories really, from beta and from the first months in game before i quitted for 3 months in june. When i came back was almost a different game with different ppl as it is now, still funny but never played that much (used to play too much)

Remember lots of the stuff mentioned, and its a shame not many ppl remembers me

Beta times were just insane, and so were first release weeks, no sleeping lvling like mad.. Ppl used to call u for help in cruachan gorge or collory when invaders were been nasty, and god knows i never refused to help Remember when Tina claimed she wouldnt let any1 exp in the gorge, and kicked her butt outta there repeteadly for 2 days (Aranth, bard, did help me ofc, she was a fast whore) then she dissapeared.. A few days after she came back been red con, quite depressive i had been lvling myself ;p

The first lvls were just crazy met lots a ppl but used to play with RL friends till the 35sh, then most of em rerolled midgard. Used to play loads with LD since met them at lvl19, and sticked with em till the date

Remember hitting 40 still on 1.36, champ debuffs were really crazy (oneshooting orange con debuffed tanks was just insane) but i felt too fucking nerfed with 1.45 patch. Remember taking 10 days off daoc when i was back, highest was still hing (miss yah midget) with lvl42.

I slowed down after patch, started to rvr way more than exping, took loads to ding 50 cos spent all damn day at emain ;P Remember nova not sleeping for days and exping madly, soloing greenbarks when no group was available, rushing to 50 then he almost stopped playing for a few days bored at 50 ;/ And aye, i tho u were an arse too nova ;P Would have never guessed we would end up sharing that much time at emain (those 3-4ppl groups with xni were too damn good, prolly the best rvr ive enjoy'd in daoc)

Remember the very first pbaoe groups at late nite with lanvar and machi

Remember Trapp hitting 50 afk.

Rememeber the first hib keep take like today, there were like 3 of us barely able to hit lord, got there as an huge zerg, ressing and rebuffing dmg add constantly took ages to dump the lord but made it

Remember all the early hunts, the early rvring.. the nice ppl i met.. bah gonna cry :_)

Remember been 2nd hib tank to rr4 before quitting (patch in which rps were way harder and few ppl was even rr3)and still been 1st rped champ when back 3 months after (altho cuth went bersek and rushed to rr7 then ;P)

Too much stuff, too much fun.. wish it could start again.

I remember solo solo solo xp, I knew from us server I wasn't gona get many groups as a ranger, so was pretty focused on soloing, although I was not shy to ask every motha foka and his mother for group :>
Mainly remember 3 specific exeptions from soloing xp: 17-21 or so gorge rats neverending chaining of the fooking rats, at 7 am groupleader said (can't remember who), sleep 1 hour meet back and chain, and so we did
Later at 28 I was sat in TC ledge for 6 hours hoping to get grouped eventually, and at the end Loff aranth movim etc invited me (funniest grouping I did to this day), and they were arguing and yelling like mad in spanish and every 5 mins Lofff said: sorry Trapp internal guild problem ^^
Lofff pulled whole trog room we paniced thinking we were going to die, Aranth ae messed them, we killed them, spearo spanish firby (can't remember name) goes: that ae mezz made dick hard, afk wanking
xped in that group all night went out next afternoon 2 pm deadly tired at lvl 33.
I remember Wuren at lvl 38 sending pm's to all high level hibs all the time: NP camping ligen come defend now
I remember Nova saying Trapp if you show me how to get to yggdra I plevel you promise :> what the fok happened to my PL Nova you bastered
I remember a certain groupleader saying ok mr lvl 43 hero there is a lvl 44 hero lfg here, so goodbye.
I remember Torin highest lvl druid on server by accident deleting his char at lvl 26 or something and GOA refusing to restore it
I remember Hing in emain with guildcloak saying: Trapp you noob they see you straight away with that black cloak
I remember myself camping yggdra day in day out all 2nd week of release (best time in game so far
I remember Motorhead at lvl 49.7 in siabra city, actually opening his mouth once between two pulls (Wuren was puller) saying: Wuren, don't just stand there.
I remember Veeshan putting orange pet on me at dakkon's tower, and me using sprintspell running all the way to bolg, typing /q and going please god let me make it, and 3 secs after the "you will quit in 5 secs" message ugly pet hit me from behind.
I remember me having 38 days /played when dinging 50 and thinking, if I had chosen any class but ranger I would have been first 50 in hibernia :]
I remember me joining na fianna and finally getting really really good xp at fins from 44ish to 50 with Lanvar Nicky Machiavelli Thorinn etc etc, still extremely grateful for that
I remember me just having dinged 45 and meeting Nova at ligen gates, I did /s lowbie to Nova as he was one lvl lower. Nova does /s don't take that from him
Then lvl 22 bard who apparantly was stood next to us went /s Trapp I will never rezz you in Emain you remember that! took me ages to make bard understand xD

I remember most of it. Starting off in a noob guild - Ley of the Land, we were noobs back then and didn't know jack. I remember trying to find the way to Emain at L10-12 at end of beta, man that was fun but we managed!

Seeing people go : "OMG I hit that purple alb!"

I was told to check this thread by my old friend Lofff. To my astonishment i found an old story that I together with Lofff, Aranth and Movin have laughed about in RL whilst drinking some beers.

I miss the old days when the game was all that it could have ever been.

I tip my hat to all those that played when the Huge parth in the parth farm was more than just a grey mob that you now kill with your main and the Groovewoods were more than Huge lag producing trees.

Cheers Trap for making me remember my old Firby Spear Hero that is long gone.

I hope we can all remember the days when exping was finding a group and dying with that group 10 times before actually beinging to exp. Exping in the frontier was necessary and dying to critical shots was a daily activity.

Damn the what the game has become where all you see is a lvl 12 valewalker / animist stuck on the ass of a hero farming gold.

I send a spammed /hug to all my old friends who I have not forgotten.

My memory which I leave posted is thanks to an old friend Tzeentch who had me crafting like a mad man just to build our first catapult and eventually walking (with bard speed) loaded with wood to Emain. Passing all the wood to another mate only to watch him immediatly die.... release.... and cry from the bind stone cause he was too encumbered to move.

Remember being invited by Synbios,Ferghus and Ogri to come to fins at lvl43 coz I was the only one online at 7am CET and the xp bonus was uber (at least for lvl43).

Synbios was so laggy that he missed the taunt or simply hitting the wrong mob so they ran up to us casters/healers. So Ferghus started to use the crawl shout (which was a red beacon light) so synbios knew which was already taken

We met everyday at approx 7 CET and wacked them till we hit 50

Ogri was the 1st elph champion that dinged 50 afaik, or was it Jox ?

I also remember as Tank wrote me to get a account on our forum and claimed to be lvl50 and I was very suspicious since I never heard of him. and as he wrote there was a 2nd lvl50 named caildia I first refused his request and had to ask nerys since I never saw both of them online

hehe I think I was about level 40 when I got invited to finns (benefits of being a bard and knowing the pl Blucia) but I quickley realized that finns were really booring. and are still today :/

I remember my first char too Lethania level 12 ranger she could use 2 swords adn she was an elf with a bow :d was so cool but couldn't get her over level 12

then I made my druid Lora and got quickley to level 20+

Fucking mythic made a npc made Lora after beta so I couldn't make my druid that is why I made a Lethania.. <sigh>

Remember Sturrrm was always in attack mode because he couldn't see difference, pulling every mob he selected(preferable high purps:doh: )

Remember when we could run around with 1 guildgroup and survive for 5 hours. Daigh rezzing us all in sight of amg with 3 fg albs chasing him everytime he rezzed someone
