With the recent loss of our relics, and the somewhat fruitless attempts to get them back, I was wondering about the feelings towards early morning raids. It's pretty obvious they have set up a primtime gauntlet that's pretty much impervious to our attempts to get past the HMG.

My question is as follows, do we retain our dignified record or taken relics when people are awake or do we follow suit, throw away our honor and start setting up early morning raids?

The hardest thing about an early morning raid is setting the alarm, you are pretty much guaranteed success, but at the loss of good conscience and the fact that getting the relics is going to be hard work and take proper planning.

Personally I am against the early morning raid scenario, it reeks of weakness and displays no skill. If we retaliate with an alarm clock raid, I think this server will go the route of never having decent raids again, making relics cheap and not worth the effort. If you feel I am wrong, please supply your argument. I think this decision should be taken as a realm.

It's an 24/7 game. Saturday morning 6 am GMT should be just fine.

It's going to turn into a 6am game forever then. Personally, I would rather be sleeping then pissing around the Uplands trying to get our relic back at 6am, because early morning mids are complete twats with no clue.

There is no honor in taking relics at 6am and normally I wouldn't go on a raid if it was done at such an hour.

However, I believe someone said (on rvr discussions) that there was an agreement that RRs wouldn't be done at these times.
I'd gladly go on a relic raid against mid at ANY time of day now. I agree when you say that relics will be come cheap if raids are at those times, but I also believe we should take back what was rightfully ours in the firstplace.
Hib took those relics at times with high activity. Let's take them back, night or day, I'll be there.

Then we will justify their actions, I say we do it with honour. If they do it again, then we fight dirty. In the beginning of this game, it tooks us ages to get relics. Even through all the teasing we retained our honour and never sank to the temptation of an early morning raid.

It was not generally known there was an agreement about relic raid times (prob. a mistake made at our side)

Second, mids didnt care last month about what happened in our frontiers. We mostly stayed out of emain as well because we were outzerged most of the times. Now that we have 1 relic back thats rightfully ours spirits have lifted enormously in Midgard and ppl are actually fighting for their realm again. So the good news for everyone is that Midgard has entered the RvR-scene again (Mids point of few, flame me if i am wrong)

Third, as mentioned in another thread i salute the relic raids that hibs have performed prime time to get their relic back.

Imho relics can be taken any time cause it is a 24/7 game. Sure it's an European server but we have people playing on odd ours and that would mean they would never be able to take a relic if they feel like it. Imho that agreement should never have been made in the 1st place.

However i think any succesfall relic raid beeing done on prime time is far more difficult and therefore earns more respect then doing one in the morning. But when u want to have one at 6 am im up for it. Would be nice to check out how well people play at those hours

imo relics should not be taken at times like 6am. if we do that, theres nothing to stop them doing the same, and they are more likely to want to as a result.

me thinks you just want them back whatever the cost, and are willing to sacrifice our honor to do it. forget it.

Well i have repetedly walked up to a big hib zerg(just for fun) with my lvl 36 Thane, alone waving and saluting u in hope of some peaceful response before i die.
But instead of that im first mezzed then /laughed at and then PBAOE, PBAOE and so on.

Q? Why laugh at an alone lvl 36 thane ?? do u think i got there by misstake ? no i wanted to c if u covards were any different than NP and albs and mabye spared my life for a short time to have some fun

Only once have i been spared and that was by an alone infil named Ninjastyle /salute .

Sadly that happens everywhere with every realm. If it happened in the last 3 days, there is an easy explanation. It happened to my lvl 5 char from a group of mids btw. Besides the fact that it has nothing to do with this post, Midgard pretty much lacks honour right now, as they proved with their lame raid.

ok Nol, here's the thing. Your frontier is being using for the daily RVR, which means there is not a living chance we can smuggle a 50+ force to Mt. Collory without u seeing it. It's just impossible, i'm against nightraids just as u are, and i'm really sorry that we had to take your relic in nighttime, but...

As soon as we show a 40+ mids force in Emain albs notice and hibs notice. Albs take advantage of the situation ánd you deploy ppl at the relic keeps. It's very hard to win against that,

My point is Odin's Gate is camped alot of times, but it's possible to get to Yggdra or Uppland without getting noticed. Do what you want with relic raids, night or day i don't really care. Just try to imagine how hard it is to take hib relics in primetime with 100+ albs/hibs in Emain already.

GL with your relic organisation, you deserve it!

"Get a life" -> What do you expect people to think when they read this? It's become an expression on the internet, and generally uttered by people who can't think up real arguments to convince someone else to stop. Same with all your arguments really.

There's a difference between complaining and whining. Nol is trying to change something that a lot of people want to see changed. People like you don't want to think too much about it and get annoyed realising he does have a point and has a way of conveying it other than by shouting 'ffs you have no life' etc. And then you start whining about it.

Doubt we'll have someone who will be able to rally up, because

a) noone wanna get so much hassle
b) noone wanna hear the whines afterwards
c) hibs are lazy asses
d) there are not many rps to gain on relic raids at 5am so noone of the rp whores will come
e) noone listens to orders
f) noone got patience
g) some need to have guild groups instead of getting a "pro" in every group so they work good (or at least find the way )
h) some peeps are just too dumb to wear the f*cking amulet for the port and postphone the whole tactics due their inability to buy/equip it

So you can't get a zerg into Collory because they'll get spotted in Emain at primetime? Well that's where tactics come in ( ; Knowing how Hibs work in their own frontier, I know a fine way to raid us at prime time. But I'm not going to tell you, seeing you're the enemy ( ;

I cant understand all those millons of words you guys here at BW writing negative stuff do u think its helping the game or what is the purpose with it really flamming isent everything there is to DAOC atm it seams it is tbh .

splashor, rei - This was actually a post to try and stop Hibernia from retaliating with a 6am relic raid.

You might want to see this game turn into a series of early morning uberness, I don't. I expressed that position in RvR forum and basically got ganked, to which in typical hib fashion, I responded. In case you missed it, I have stopped posting on the RvR boards despite more insults being levelled at me. In the beginning of that posting session I tried to make a point and got insulted from that point on. I don't take that kind of treatment from anyone, least of all selfish pratts that have difficulty stringing together an insult never mind an argument.

But I would prefer ths thread returns to being about a relic raid discussion as opposed to another flaming session.

You asked why I am not organising a relic raid? Because right now I am sitting with an apple mac notebook on my lap with no way to get into the game for at least a week, which = got a life.

It would be a great shame if relic raids all started to be done at silly hours. I mean come on, it's a game we play for fun isnt it? Why avoid the enemy to get a relic? Surely it's the fight itself and the sense of achievement afterwards that's what the game is all about? I think some people are playing this game too much
If one of the posters comments above are true, at least it improved the moral of the mids, which imo is a good thing, even if the way in which the raid itself was carried out wasnt.
Personally I think a prime time RR is the only thing to do, not just cos it seems the right thing to do morally, but cos this will be the maximum fun factor time!
