What the hell, thats almost as good an idea as Poll tax! The last quote is classic though.

Exactly, it's a crock of shit. As someone suggested, putting black in there merely rises to the BNP arguement "there ain't no black in the union jack" rather than just dismisses it as racist bullshit. Which is what it is. The flag doesn't symbolise colour of skin, lets leave it that way.

Amazingly there is a program on BBC2 about what the Stuarts did for us and one of the items is the Union Jack Flag. It was originally designed to represent a mixture of the St.Georges and St.Andrews flag with a later revision that saw the Irish represented via the adding of the red diagonals two hundred years after the original UJ.

This idea is totally stupid, adding a black line.

If that happened, I would like them to do it. Whether or not it would actually happen, is something for discussion (Wales is not represented, because it was already united with England before the Union Jack was designed). The only reason the flag came about was because Elizabeth I was succeeded by James VI.

Most UK tax payers would happily agree to cutting scotland, wales and N ire off the payroll.
They get more tax £ per capita than england. Scotlands NHS bill is staggering (due to the scots having an amazing level of heart disease).

And most importantly, they have no industry. Other than scotlands telemarketing farms.


Despite the moaning of the scots, the worst thing that could happen to them is total independance. Regional goverments, are a different matter, but has any scot considered the cost of defending the legal access rights to the north sea oil? It's cost the UK billions over the years....
