When did you start to enjoy it?

You like the sweet ones, the spicy ones, the dry ones or something else?

I like mine sweet and spicy :D

I never really liked wine till I turned 18. Started to like it more, 20 in 2 weeks - I've got no hate for it  Some I like.

First got the taste of it at 22, at the time my roommate brought 10 litres home from france :p

But nothing better than to lean back watch some good on the screen and have a little glass :D

Doctors even recommend it!

Can't stand red wine myself, quite like the odd bottle of decent white wine now and again with a meal.

I love red wine.

For special occasions, or pure indulgence, I'd open a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape (I particularly like the Domaine Chante Cigale, 2003 vintage).

For just a really nice glass of red, I usually go for something lighter (and cheaper) - typically Ernst & Julio Gallo Sierra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Rioja is the grape variety I find most consistanty delicious.

hmm, last i checked rioja is a region "in spain" not a grape variety, but i might stand corrected ofc,

typical rioja grapes would i belive be Tempranillo and Garnacha

as for my prefered wines, well it kinda changes from time to time, atm I like the Amarone, and a Southafrican label called Allesverloren, especially thier Tinta Barocca and shiraz,

the Chateauneuf du Pape is abit too heavy for me, and personaly i dont feel you get all you could in quality for money.

19, spain university trip to the southern mountain range, where we discovered red wines cheaper than milk

80c for a litre, we got a few barrels of the stuff in and iv never enjoyed it so much as that spanish home grown goodness

alas it gives the worst hangovers- and jetting off around the mountains in a van all day wasnt the best hangover cure to begin with

epic stuff, though i couldnt tell you what the type of red wine actually was, just that it came in an 8l barrel :p

The wine that gives you the worst hangovers is usually the one with the highest amount of Tanniner (Garvesyre) wich is usually the lowest quality wines. "the cheap stuff at your local discount stores ect.. ;)

Hmm did my first post disapeare... apparently so.

Well I like red wine and I like it dry. Not so keen on white, unless it is very fruity and sweet. But I mostly enjoy it with food, not alone. Alone I'll go for morgan or havana club rum any day of the week.

I used to drink white up until a few years ago, my Dad always drinks red wine and it started to rub off until I found myself actually prefering red wine by choice.

Just recently though i've been choosing to suite the occasion more and going for variety, i.e red wine for meals, white or rose for partying or refreshment etc.

yup I gave up "the seriouse posting" for FH, now i just fool around and wait for the occasional "good thread"

We have good threads, but usually the "serious" f*cks ruin them.

I talked about this way back when, how this used to be a more serious place, but all the book anals, library farts and smart a** bastard came in with their nanodicks and started spewing "facts" on the threads.

So we all told it to f*ck it. Especially after the bookhumpers told US to make more intellectual threads. Do them your f*cking self!

So if there's no INTELLECTUAL discussion here...do something about it and stop whining like a little girl.

You meaning all, not you Olgaline.

Have you drank ale by the way? Much better then beer, or pilsner. Real "oomfy" ale :D

Honeyale was sold in the local liqour store a while back and it was heavenly at least.

And i usually hate beer.

Abyyt Wine-ah! It is, how dy jyy say...revolting. Unless, we have le hangover, then i drink it...if i happen to have it...

Started drinking wine when I was about 26 or so, used to make dinner with my brother on saturdays and he always brought a bottle so I had to take atleast one glass, after some time it wasn't so bad anymore...

I hate him for doing that, now I can drink wine, and the worst thing ever made have to be the 3L bag in box, specielly when the one you suppose to split it with at a party don't show up and you totaly loose track of how many glasses you have had (drinking the whole shit yourself) damn I was wasted that night, atleast thats what I'm told.

one annoying thing sometimes tho from red wine, I get blushed, and its not like an embarrassment blush, but neck, chin and bit down over the chest turns bright red, looks nasty. But it goes away after a little while (so far)

I start liking red wine after my 5th / 6th pint of beer when my sense of taste goes out the door.

Red wine is nice, tho limit of my knowledge on it is 'i know what i like'. Most mid-price new world stuff u can't go wrong with imo. White wine, find mostly undrinkable cos of the heartburn. Cider is as bad, what is it with pale drinks and acid.

cant stomach wine for some reason, never have been able too, and the smell kinda makes me gag now.
think it all stems from when my dad attempted home made wine, and it had the smell of cheese, and the taste of vomit.

its a shame cos red whine looks tasty!
