If it gets you a prosumer video camera that's better than say a gopro 5 w/ EIS, then it's quite an attractive option.

But isn't the camera lens a snap on? Be interesting to see if that is in the base price or additional based on type of lens required. Still a lot of dosh for something that has a 2 year life.

Phones definitely don't have a 2 year life anymore.
I'm still using my oneplus one 3 years and 3 months after release.
Currently on android 7, and android 8 roms are already near stable release.

personal possibly, most corporate entities have a 2 year policy based on security vulnerabilities and 2-3 years on laptops.
