i just didnt really get WoW the end game seems to be the high end pve, which i find pretty pointless, why bother PvEing just so you can be better equiped to do what you are already doing. give me decent PvP any day.

why bother with end pve - the computer is only as good as created... now a man behind the enemy is a lot tougher!

So i'm bored with daoc and i want something else to play. Anyone got any suggestions?

Played Oblivion but got bored, though i am particularly a fan of RPG's :)

System Shock 2, Thief 2, Spellforce + expansions, etc etc. Games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil series are also great ;D

Agree with the above comments that PVE is good till it ends. Whether its level 50, 60, or 160. When you've got to the highest level what next ? Well the obvious route is BALANCED PVP (or RVR or whatever the term).

The mistake in DAOC is that the realm ranks (how many are there now ? 10 ? 12 ?) scale up poorly. You might as well do away with RR and just have XP levels go up to level 75, scrap artifacts, tone down RA's so that there's much less gap between in the end game and therefore everyone has a relatively equal chance of surviving.

What you've got in DAOC RVR now is nothing for RR1-5's. Thats why I won't go back to DAOC. I'll enjoy PVE to 50 then what ? Get constantly pwnd in RVR. The amount of pwnage, ability disparity, and class/realm imbalances make RVR these days disheartening.

And what do they do ? Bring out more expansions. Cosmetic and pointless.

People play end-game PvE because they enjoy it. Doesn't suit everyones taste.

WoW's end-game PvE system really is totally different from DAoC's, and you can't really comment on it until you've experienced it properly yourself

Onimusha the first one is a ocmplete bag of wank, took me 4 hours to do and the most time consuming bit was a bloody water chamber which is completely impossible to do without cheating.

I would love to play DoTA again, but annoyingly the updated version of TFT doesnt seem to like my dual-core CPU, and it wont let me set the affinity to only one core. :(

I liked all of the Onimusha series :) Can't remember exactly which what chamber you mean, the one with a puzzle on the walls?

Lom Private Servers are good fun.

www.lomcn.co.uk

Note to mods: It's not actually considered illegal due to the use of emulators.

Dungeon Siege 2, started playing it off raid times in Wow and its a nice game.

And to the people slagging off WoW PvE - it's nowhere close to the DAoC PvE which I hated with a passion its actually challenging and requires everyone to put alot of effort, and yes its fun aslong as it last but Blizzard unlike Mythic makes sure it doesn't end with new added dungeons etc every few months that takes a good time to beat and is unique in everyway.

Minesweeper Pro MX Prodigy v2.12.09 Online

or GuildWars :D. Guildwars pvp is pretty nice, more balanced then DAoC's imo. Plus you don't have to grind through PvE to have to play the PvP - you can make PvP only characters.

The graphic on wow isnt nice, more detailed then daoc, but makes me sick. Its to cartooninsh. espeialy the gnomes. And wow has a sucky RvR. Have never played wow tho but have watched it a lot, got many friends who played it.
Completely clueless. :)

Wow pvp isen't bad, however it has it's downsides. It's very gear dependant, but it's easy to get good gear, and it's instanced.

The plus sides are of course that it's a change from daoc pvp. It's alot different when it comes to 1on1's, it actually comes down to skill instead of pressing you reactionary with an anytimer backup.. Team fights are shorter and in general the game is in a higher pace.

The pve is different from daoc's. Since you can only bring 40 men to an encounter, instead of an infinite amount like in daoc, Blizzard balance it so it becomes hard as 40. The reason that daoc pve is boring is because it's a walkover. I've had alot of great moments in daoc where it was actually hard to do an encounter, and alot of boring moments like kiting danos guards with a shaman without the possibility of them deaggroing while alt tabbing to heal the sm pet tanking danos ever 10 seconds.

In short. You pve to become better equiped and to defeat more difficult encounters. :D

Sorry for the offtopic'ness Vlad, but that's what to forum is for! :D

Only games I can recommend is Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones. I don't play SP much but these games really caught my attention. Very good pussle platform games with a very nice combat system. I recommend you to play them in the order, if you havn't already, since the story is great. Even though the Sands of Time combat system is a bit boring compared to the other two. :p
