Played Oblivion but got bored, though i am particularly a fan of RPG's

Played WoW for a year after DAoC then started with EQ and have been playing that for a year now... but you need a high level benefactor to get started in EQ nowadays if you want to play highend... took me about 6 months or so to get the levels and gear to apply to a highend guild, and its still a slackguild raiding every 2nd day

Yes DoTA and warcraft III in general is a good game, tons of exelent Mods made by amatures. As well as a great stratergy game in general

Not an RPG at all, but I really enjoyed Quake 4. Really got the feel of being part of a huge military assault, rather than some hackneyed "you single-handedly destroy the planet" bullshit...very well done.

Quake 4 MP is decent, very active. Q3 is harder though, and imo more fun :]

Imo there's no good RPG's out on the PC now for quite some time, believe the last good singleplayer RPG I got for the PC was Silver and that's way old now.
Though got kinda addicted to Onimusha "Dawn of Dreams" on the ps2, it's a really nice RPG type game though shame I finished it in 16 hours but that's with alot of singleplayer RPGs they are all way too easy, So playing FFX-2 atm seeing if that takes any longer, both great games imo.

And ofc DotA like other people said the WC3 Mod but I don't really like Bnet as it's either choosing to play on EU server and learn 7 more languages to communicate with people or play US server and deal with an extreme amount of "kids".
Could always try Guildwars, kept me busy for 2 months (1000+ hours total play time) till I got bored of it (managed to get to rank 9), not really an RPG but a good story line and the PvE part is really not that boring, unlike DAoC's, although there alot of leetists and I mean really alot.

Not tried Q4's MP...I played an immense amount of Q3 back in 2000-2002 though =), used to moderate Quake3World.com for a while too...

The graphic on wow isnt nice, more detailed then daoc, but makes me sick. Its to cartooninsh. espeialy the gnomes. And wow has a sucky RvR. Have never played wow tho but have watched it a lot, got many friends who played it.

But how did the game play and game mechanics compare to DAOC ? Better / worse / much the same ?

I doubt many of the FH viewers nowadays play WoW. Plus the fact that a lot of people that play DAoC play it for the RvR, and when they see WoW's PvP they give up...

WoW's PvE system is excellent, I've played it since release and end-game pve content really is challenging. PvP Sysem is supposedly being improved in the up-coming expansion though

I'd suggest giving JK2 (Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast) Multiplayer a go, not an RPG at all, but no game comes close in having such a unique saber system. Still quite active to this day, I've also played JK2 since release.

Omnimusha Dawn of Dreams is a pretty decent game, though as Andrilyn said it's short like most of the console games. FFX-2 is worth a go if you don't mind playing woman all the time, my brother didn't like it for this reason
