Reaver weapon spec

At the moment my reaver is 50flex, 42 shield 39 sr

Been thinking on respeccing to slash instead and get malice.
I loose Levi. snakecharmer
But gain amy --> lvl 50 slash style. malice

Whats your oppinion on that?

I know, but I can use it all the time, dont have to get behind target. and I like malice so much better than snakecharmer. looks cooler.

If I was to respec from flex -> other line I would probably go for less than 50 spec and get Soulrending up higher for better drains, dots, lifetap proc and self dmgadd.

Also I would probably go for Crush rather than slash so you get stun style but I'm not entirely sure about that (also possibly less endurance usage than slash, have never tried crush spec on any char so can't say).

There is no reason why a reaver can't already get Malice just for the charge even if they are flexspecced, just pop it in your 2-hand slot and use the charge when you can/want.

it's the proc that's good about malice though charge is nice and all but nothing on the proc.

Would be an interesting experiment - worth a shot go kill a dragon - can always respec back

Keep in mind, debuffs will destory any dmg you'll do being slash spec.

But you won't know unless you try, its like many say melee scout sucks without trying it, same can be said with other classes imo.

Its nice being flex tho, I think its 50/50 str/dex based and you do most of the dmg through nice style procs.

ive seen a few slash reavers on Camlann but only for lvling and autotraining flex. its pretty good for lvling but at 50 theres no better style than levi

You can go slash, penty of reavers have and theres absolutely nothing wrong with it, and iirc there's a RR6 reaver (think retiered) knocking about somewhere on Excal/Alb, havent seen in ages though, but thats 50 SR 50 Slash, which was fine if you ask me, you'd need to have high piety and plenty of pow pool though to make the template work. Personally, I've tried pretty much all possible specs and the one I keep going back to is 50 42 39, it's got levi, numb ( ) and slam and also good damage debuffs and absorbs, no need for battler either then, I think battler is somehting like -20 abs and the last abs debuff in SR line is -17 or so, but basically go that spec and see what its like, but I'll just inform you now, that regardless of how much dex/str cap you have, no matter how much resist eprice you have, you will always 3 shot any stealthers with leviathan, so bare in mind you don't need an uber template either with a Flex line spec, as slash spec your gonna have to work alot harder on your template, in terms of defenciveness you also loose Viper chain, which has become basically an anytime chain for me since I've redone template, I block LOTS when buffed, its not even funny.
