ok, just woke up, my mind pretty clear, coffee cup beside me. Over the months I encountered good players, not so good players, and bad players. And im not talking about skill, im talking about attitude. Some players bring their IRL frustrations in this game, and some act like eveybody is shit compared to them.
Im starting this thread hoping it will be sticky later on.

If someone is being shit to you, and you can prove it, please let your realm mates know; Use this thread, post screenshots, whatever. That way we can judge ourselves.

For example, player named Berserker, he's a thief. Friend of mine spent all his money on a 2h crafted axe, and this guy asked him the axe, pretending he wants to see how his char looks with it. Of course, he never returned it.

I think everyone posting 'I think X is a cheater, liar, whiner etc, etc' posts here is just going to create more stupid posts than ever.

Yes there are some morally fluid and arrogant people on line just like the real world, so instead of pointing fingers and crying like a toddler just /ignore them and move on.

dunno, i think Osy is doing smth good here.

normally, we have had stuff like that cleared in-game, normally the guy with the most power wins

well, might say it is unfair, but better be safe than sorry (that is at the abusive dude then).

ppl have been marked on 'no-help-list' and also have gotten kicked from their guilds and many GM-s notified not to accept them.

stuff like that, i doubt there is any point in posting things like this in the forums (seeing as this only brings you enemies, not many friends).

best thing to do here would be talking to E&E-s but i dunno any of em :/

Thought this was in a US friday grab bag or a Friday News of GOA as a warning.

Personally, I think its pretty stupid to give things to people you dont know.

A blacklist here? Bad idea. Say 1 thing wrong to someone on a bad day and your own ass is added here.

Just stay nice and polite yourself and use /ignore if you really cant stand someone.

Personally I never met badmouthing persons not even with my unknown alts and I've been playing this game since beta so I tend to believe you're own attitude plays a large part in this.

Jimli, its not about saying bad things to people, its about leechers, its about thiefs, its about ppl killing quest mobs just so others cant do the quest... In the end, its about people that interfere with the natural course of the game. Ppl that, according to the CoC, should be reported. I say dont report, I say notify your realm mates.

Yup. I say report. Goa can go through the logs and get the evidence. On this forum it's just gonna be the old simple flaming trick where peoples reputation get smeared.

Abd thiefs? Thefts are only a result of your own good nature. Grow a bit more paranoia and you're fine. Afaik there's no pickpocket skill in this game.

people that try to rip each other off in this game are fairly rare i've found. i'm quite happy to show people my items and if i get a good vibe off them i'm happy to lend them the item for a while.

so that basically means non of you can borrow anything cause i hate you all (jk)


but making a black-list isn't a good idea. if you lose an item due to your own stupididty (yes i do realise i'm calling myself stupid, but lets face it i am ) or good-natured attitude then it happened. after all its a bunch of 0's and 1's at the end of the day and its not like certain games <cough> LoM <cough> where you have massive hacker/cheater problems, thats one thing i like over mir its a lot more friendly and theres a definate sense of team spirit in most peeps

Note- this doesn't apply to rune-master who don't have pulse blade turn, shame on you for not being slaves to the group system i should shoot you all

Hey, it happened to me in week 3 I think, with my TL sword.

Guy said: "Man that purple sword looks cool, can I hold it?"

Ofcourse I gave it to him, and 1 second later he went LD, never to be seen again. (Don't trust level 1 viking trolls!)

I wanted to thank him for showing me how stupid I was trusting someone for that hehe.

yes, well, i have been offered stuff to lend (once in df, i had only af2 cloth sleeves on my lvl 22 warrior, a nice healer called Tightbuns [hope it is right] wanted to lend me hers) but i have never accepted. what if smth happens to me (modem blows up for example) and i cant give em back, what then? then i am a lamer.

so, i say, only give stuff to and lend from ppl u know very well.

hell, if i need a transfer i always ask someone in some guild (and preferably higher lvl) to do it for me. that way they have much reputation to lose if they steal my items

Hehe - this sort of this happens all the time.

The best place for it is malmohus where the amount of items and kills happens so fast - it's hard to see sometimes who got what. Then as if by magic someone goes LD and you never see the "healer" item again that a warrior picked up for example.

In the end - it all depends who you group with, and thankfully I've never really had to experience that kind of thing again, but I think I'd definitely think twice if a lvl1 seer asked if he could hold my hammer of black ice
