Outside of watching tv shows, eating and having a wank(which kills 2 minutes nicely), i'm bored out of my mind about doing anything!

Think about playing games, can't be arsed. Think about writing, no inspiration to do that. Not really interested in going out to get pissed since i can't really afford a lot of those nights.

I don't know if it's the hot weather or sheer lack of stimulation but man, it's like sitting in an igloo on the antarctic and your only entertainment is wiggling your worm from a hole in the ice.

Any experiences? Share? Cure?

I am in a similar situation (except my wank took about 20 minutes this morning for some reason).

Read books. Educate yourself. Learn something new. Learn a new language. Learn to play a musical instrument. Get a new hobby. Paint your apartment. Visit friends. Go to a museum. Go for a long walk. Design a tattoo for yourself. Brew your own alcoholic beverage.

Yeah i know, lots to do, the thing being that can't be arsed(quick way of putting it). Just that everything seems so meh and i have no idea why :p

You keep saying that so, think it's fair to ask what's your job?

Nah, i'm not jolting it down to that. Too many people do and way too easily.

Don't think there's a clinical term for chronic boredom? :p

I was more thinking of a rusted color, maybe add a bit of steampunk into the mix. But yeah that would be the basic frame i'd start with.

im a full time university student and a chef (full time atm, part-time during term time)

Well guessing then that you've not experienced unemployment from your main line of work? Or even experienced the life when there's no work to be done?

If your usual routine is not satisfying you and you're usual activities are not really interesting to you, in my experience it usually means there's something in particular you feel you should be doing and for whatever reason are not getting on with it. Once you nail what that thing is and act on it, you might find the activities you previously enjoyed become more palatable again.

Not an instruction, just a suggestion.

I've been like that for a while now. Been out of work for 3 months, and am bored shitless.

Telly is shit, games are shit, all my mates are at work so days are shit. Evenings are also shit cause the lads are like 'ooh, I've had a hard day at work and I'm planning o doing fuck all cause i'm SO tired'. Bored fucking witless... that and I've been smoking the weed non stop for way too long.

I've cut out the green (clean for a few weeks now, fuck you other thread of 'I've given up for 2 weeks, give me attention'), and have signed up to retake my GCSEs (I got 4 C's 20 years ago, but to get into physics I need A's or B's) which starts in September.

Since jacking in the drugs, I got motivated enough to go to a larp last weekend, and I'm feeling a whole lot better for it.

Basically, I've tried filling my calender up with stuff, and even though I'm still not working, doing something every few days or once a week makes the boring days much more bearable. Having something to look forward to makes a HUGE difference.

And yes, i am applying for jobs that REALLY don't want (IT support, dealing with fucking retards all day) but have to for money and to fund my new college habit. (Roll on when I can leave the piece of total shite that is IT behind. Because of IT support, I have learnt to really fucking hate people. Especially ones unwilling to listen or learn or even pay attention to you when they want something fixed, fucking *****.)

Anyway, the point of this is, just try pushing yourself to do something once or twice a week, go out for the evening, look for free stuff to do, even get the lads round on a weekend for some Settlers of Catan, Carcassone or somesuch game. Once you start to do things, other stuff will be easier to get to. The main thing is to force yourself the first couple times...

Seriously, i'm not trolling. Stop sitting around feeling sorry for yourself and get out there and sort your life out.

I find sitting down and getting lost in a good book usually helps prevent boredom, but then I have aspergers and reading is one of my interests, so I don't know if it would work for everyone.

Seriously, you are. You're thinking i'm just sitting here and sighing, not trying to find a job and feel sorry for myself? You're 100% wrong.

And since you keep coming to every thread with same bull, you are 100% trolling.

This from a "so called" chef, who probably lives at home and works at his dads burger joint without no real life experience or experience from unemployment.

Yeij, you got a job, good for you *pats head* want a cookie? But there's a reason why there's so many unemployed out there, they didn't.

If you're bored - take up volunteering in some form or another. Not only is it rewarding, as you get to make a difference in society but it may even lead you to a job (it's how I got one of my jobs) and you can get national recognition for it with some government schemes etc. It's not going to make an employer orgasm but with free time, you may as well contribute anything and everything you can to a CV to make it that little bit better.

Plus you meet some awesome people and a lot of volunteering will offer free lunch/dinner/whatever and travel reimbursement. Take some campus clearances at unis' end of summer. A group of you do an 8 hour shift of hoarding left over stuff from students' returning home; you get free lunch, volunteering hours to work toward a nationally recognised certificate and you can end up hoarding about 30k's worth of goods to give to charity.

Good call and thought about that at some point, just would have to figure out what it is that i want to do, sicne if i do i ofcourse expect it to go somewhere.

Unless it's candy striping, in which case it would be just to help.

Tohtori, Im in a very similar situation to you - actually im worse off!

Im living in a country I cant speak the language, which means jobs and such are out of the question.

I currently dont have a car in this country, although my licence permits me to drive once i get one, which means im pretty much house bound unless i want to go the town on the bus.

I am working 2 nights a week working with my gf's dad delivering papers and stuff, fri and sat night from 2-8am which gives me around £500 a month spending money.

Motivation to learning Danish is currently at 0, although i start the language school in August.

I have only completed 2 years of my Uni course and decided to wait to do my 3rd as i have lost all motivation in it - 18 years of non stop education blowing my mind apart. This means i currently have no degree, except the equivilent of a higher diploma of education in comp science if i dont finish my last year (got 3 years left to decide)

During my 5 days off, well .. for example today .. woke at 9, turned on the pc, read the news, read fh, checked fb .. watched primeminsters questions, chatted to my mate on msn, had lunch, watered my potato plants, read the news, watched the news, read fh, read fb, writing this.

So yea im bored shitless. Im not lazy, ive always had a job since the week i left secondary school. I worked through college, and my years at uni. It was my decision to come and live with my gf, and i knew it was a hard path. Afterall i could be in a job at home now but im happy here, but it is depressing at times.

Saying that ive recently built my own php based website and in the process of producing my own CMS, i dont know why as im not sure if i even want a job in computing.

Although i recently read something. Its best to make mistakes while your young. Id rather make all my mistakes now than later on in life.

Sooo what to do?
