The lake I spend summer vacations swimming in… we are here at the moment I had my first swim this morning even though we arrived Monday evening…. Water was very rough today (there can be high waves as the lake is very very big)… these two pictures were taken Tuesday morning - cloudy but very warm …
They were a millennium project, so they are now 25 years old, they've had a refresh by the original woodcarver in that period. They were made from some sleepers left over when the train line was torn up in 1970, which is now part of the Tarka Trail and this part (cycle route) runs from Braunton to Meeth which is just over 30 miles out of the total 180 miles for the complete trail.
The Tarka Trail is a 180mile, walking and cycling trail traversing North Devon and Exmoor and features the longest, traffic-free cycle route in the UK.
