in emain there was 15 of us and 7 mids, lanceloc yells charge, 2 of us go and the rest of you stand there, why? why not charge, why do you even fucking bother to level upto level 50 just to goto emain and fucking sit there on the grass and let everryone die 1 by 1? fucking good sense of fun you have.

Beats me too - I pretty much keep my RvR these days to guild/alliance groups. Usually where there is a clearly defined objective. Turning up to wander around with random people, far too many of whom run away at the sight of a single Mid, holds no attraction anymore.

One of the problems is that in the past there have been so many idiots spamming 'charge', 'run away' etc that people tend to switch off to a sudden yell of 'Chaaarge!!' (not saying that happened here').

Not sure what the answer is, maybe doing a yell 1st giving people a heads up, eg, ' 7 mids on other side of amg/mmg charging in 20 seconds'. If no-one objects then away you go and if they don't follow you got good cause to feel pissed.

I'm really glad that someone has brought this up, because I really can't understand it. Why do the albs always run away from a few mids? When they stand their ground, they own, as soon as a few of them start running, then us mids can just slaughter them one by one.
We often stand at amg talking about the meaning of life, and why albs run away from mids unless they outnumber them 5 to 1. (slight exaggeration)

Albions have no chance now hardly with them running of half of them or some not leaving the dam pk.Aoe stun and half of us die,half the fucking mids are skalds,there is around 50972702709747957092 gimp sbs in emain who realise if they are doing 30-40 damage they need 2751563 more to help them.

Also shield is fucked on casters so hunters one shot us this game is becoming unbalanced...

Come on Matt, Mid casters suffer from the same thing. In any group that I am in - who needs ressing first - the runey. Also, I dont survive very long in a one to one, and as we all know, knock out the seers, and the rest of the group usually follows fairly quickly.

I think you need to look a bit closer to home for the real answers.

Bring some aggro mobs and place them behind the albs, then they will think twice about running back???

When I yelled charge it was about 7 mids vs 10 albs. I shouldve yelled a warning first to say we're charging in 1 minute or something but the fact remains: Albs are stupid and cowardly.

tbh its not really albs fault, its mythics fault for allowing ae casting on doors, and there being absolutely no other way around a milegate. If it truly is camped by equal numbers either side, the defending side have a huge advantage by all the damage they can do AE through the doors. You need someone to attack from behind (which you cant do unless 3rd realm comes, or you have some groups other side-> which isn't all that likely if someones just zerged a huge force to your milegate). No-one likes to run at a door only to be nuked down in 5 hits, and then lay there dead and probably release, its not so much about being cowardly but just not having any fun which is why they play the game. I know I can rarely get through with any hp as a stealther, so unless i go through pre charge, and avoid random aes, and sbs standing next to doors, Im pretty pathetic at the MG.

We did have a great battle at AMG sunday night, Albs one side, mids the other, hibs attacked mids, we attacked mids, we attacked hibs, then some more mids arrived!

Good news! Today I experienced more cooperation between albs in RVR. I made a cg and most were quite patient in waiting for reinforcements and discussing tactics etc.

We eventually managed to gain ground supremecy in Emain Macha.

coming from mid/exc, i can say that they suffer from the same disease there .. standing with 15 mids at *mg .. someone yells charge and you get nuked inside the amg doors while 80% (atleast) turntail and screams "TEH ZERG IS CUMMING!!!111" and as you lie there, pondering on a release, you see maybe 10 albs come through .. (then again lately emain has become -very- overrun by albs.. not hard with a realm having 45% of the guilded population )..

Tonight was my first longer RvR session as an Alb (excluding Thidranki.. but that doesnt count) and i must say that it worked pretty well after all... Kudos to the ppl in the cg, when it got going and ppl started to communicate it all went alot smoother, maybe the wind is changing ... the threads here on Barrys Whine has paid off.. we wont know yet... but it might just change ...

Like stated earlier its better to die fighting .... than die running, and you get more rp's fighting than running .

biggest issue is that no1 trust the others.
When someone yells charge, 80% stays back to look if the others are chargeing.

Not much we can do about it, except getting more organized with cg communication.

as a side note, If people dont want to run with the zerg it's up to them, wont mention any names but I got fairly pissed off at 2 persons in tonights cg.

Result: The Midgardian Skum trodden well into the road. Only those Midgardians that ran, survived (for a little while).

Oh, come on Matt. The caster shield is far from 'faulty'. No class in the game is as loaded with anti-archer abilities as the casters are, with assassins running a close second place.

The only time a caster gets one-shot is when he's either not paying attention to the, by default BRIGHT PURPLE message telling them their barrier absorbed the impact, or when he's too close to combat. It is exceedingly hard to get critshot'd by an archer:

- (Pulsating) Bladeturn
- /face, QC nearsight.
- QC Another bubble
- Melee. If there's anyone fighting the caster, we can't crit anymore.
- Moving with any speed faster than walking
- Having a shieldspec'd fighter standing next to the caster with guard.
- You miss! (Probably a bubble, but not all the time)
- You fumble! (Amazing, with Bow 65)
- You can't get a good shot yet! (No idea why this happens. It just does. ;P)

To name but a few.

In other words.. If you get ganked by an archer, especially a hunter, you probably deserved no less. ;P In fact you should be proud to be killed by Midgard's most gimped class. =)
