Works out at 148F and yes it is stupidly humid, though i don't have a device reader in my car to show the exact figure.

I thought the highest ever recorded temperature was like 57 C or something. Surely this is record breaking?

One of the "good" things around here is that yes, it might be damned cold in winter and super hot in summer, but at least it is a dry hot. Cant imagine how it would be to walk around in 33º with wet weather and to need 4-5 showers a day :flame:

The gauge is not for inside the cars but outside temperature. The 54 one is from my car in the shade. 64.5 is parked out in the sun.

Have a regular temp measurer? What does that show?

Daha watar temp seems to be at 51 C, so it's not that impossible to have a 54 reading on a car measure.

TBH i don't anyone that has a regular temp gauge here in Qatar and quite frankly why on earth would anyone have one, it is always going to be over ridiculously hot this time of the year.

Well it's all dependant really, in Finland +30 C is more ridicilous then +50 there.

It's what people are used to and how much it goes over it that matters.

Try going on a 1 hour site visit here at midday and then come and complain about 30 degrees. You cant get used to 40+ degrees, it is not possible because you wouldn't be able to with stand it for longer then an hour at the most, regardless of clothing.

Hmpf, balls you can't.

Finns go from -30 to +30 and sit in a 90+ sauna for fun :p

Not to mention, go to a 120C sauna trip, then run out to -25C to roll around in some snow.

Sure it's hot out there, but it's as annoyingly hot as it feels here.

But i'm not gonna argue about it, since i'm not the one complaining about a little heat :D

TBH if it ever got that hot here in London, the road surfaces would start melting. The roads in London are in a shocking condition. They're poorly maintained, we get a bit of a cold snap in Jan/Feb, the ice gets in, cracks widen into potholes, the councils are too cash strapped to fix them & everyone prangs their cars on them. I've lost count the number of punctures my motorbike front tyre has picked up in the last 2 years

I would like to see you sit in that sauna for 5 hours, without the possibilty of jumping into the -25C water whenever it starts to get uncomfortable :D

Really though i don't have it so bad, as i have AC to hide under and if i do go out in it for site inspections etc it is for a max of 1-2 hours but the labour force are seriously fooked.

Having said that though they have bought in regulations now that mean that employers cannot force workers to go out and labour between 10/11am - 2/3pm. Not ideal still but a lot better then a couple of years ago when people were dropping like flies off buildings due to heat exhuastion and employers would force them to work right through the day.

Well, i think sitting in a 50 decree sauna would be boring, but best i've sat without getting bored is 1.5h in a 80 degree one :p

Ofcourse you drink a ton too and sweat like a pig in a sweater, but hey, that's sauna.

AC would be a gods send, but only the well afforded have them here(since AC isn't needed in finland), the rentals are f*cked.

Around 70-90 humidity, +20 at night and no AC :p

Yea i ahve to agree about the humidity, it was about 80% yesterday to boot. Nasty combo.

No A/C no life over here, it would be unbearable.

The hottest air temperature ever recorded on earth:

2005 in the Lut Desert in Iran at 70.7° Celsius which is 159.26° Fahrenheit. (the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrophotometer (MODIS) on NASA's Aqua satellite actually records this as surface temperature, so the record doesn't apply)

Previous to this on Sept. 13, 1922 El Azizia in Libya 57.8 °C (136°F)

Death Valley, California, USA, where it got up to 57.1°C (134°F) on July 10, 1913.

Highest average:

The hottest average is Kalahari desert in South Africa=43.3 degrees Celsius=109.94 F

Dallol, Ethiopia, is the most consistently warm place on earth with an average yearly ambient surface air temperature of 34.4°C = 93.92F

Apparently. :)
