Some of you have complained about not being able to attack shrooms in some circumstances. I asked about it on the Animist boards and our TL replied with this:

If it makes you feel any better, is seems a similar (or the same maybe) bug affecting placement of shrooms. When trying to place shrooms on valid locations slopes now I quite often get a message "you cannot cast this spell in the air" as if I have raised my GT.

Gotto say its nice to see this kind of decent sence of fair play!:)

I dont like the target problem...actually it drives me crazy...but its damn nice to see that even shroomers understand that its a problem and want it fixed!:) So more powwa to ya!:) (As rc runie its highly annoying not to be able to target a field of shrooms since they instant die from aenuke but as wholdar said just have to keep away from them hibbie towers...

Tis odd.

Last night at behn there was a stack of shrooms around the back on the battlements..so i stood in the tower...steped out and went to ae dot them.

The spell starts fine then instead of finishing and dotting the shrooms the 'Target not in view. Spell Failed' Can start the cast as many times as i like...just not finish it :(

Think he just wanted to know how to get an argument about this and how long they can continue abusing this. Im just waiting now then when those luri's with pbaoe start training to ty getting the same spots as animist try getting their gt's. And dont even try to say animist are unintentionally just random gt'ing the spots that are untargettable. Think you all been reading the same posts where is best places to abuse LoS as I have when I was wondering this issue.

And yes I think shrooms are something really in my most hated list and ill be cursing em all the time. Seen my pot of oil been completely destroyed in about 20 sec by untargettable shrooms that animist threw straight ontop of the oil thingie.

But again you guys play the game you want and ill try my best to fight it.

I´d love to see shrooms fixed along with all other pets in this game and tbh they could remove them all together if only I got something else to do.

Since my main DD (bombers) are screwed beyond belief and my baseline lifetap drains much power and variates much in damage all I can do is get a GT and spam shrooms.

I realize it sucks ass to fight against, I´d hate it aswell. But I really cant do much else.

I was nuked numerous times last night inside the lord room at Behn (hi no windows) by albs. We even had a lag run reaver warp through (untargettable) the walls and plant twf all in one lag motion. Lag > all. I was also meleed by a friar in a tower basement who I saw at /stick range and he was out of view all the time, then out of range (not throw weapon)meleeing several people. He even climbed the ladder I stuck him and he teleported into the keep. It was a ghost your honour!

You was inside lord room on your screen, but may be not on the server itself and on the other players screen. Seems due to bad connections and, may be, bad coding, servers cannot handle all thatinformationand send it to all clients.

Nice example, went by boat with a group mate, but nobody could see the other sitting in the boat. Sme seconds after disembarking effect diaappeared.
And no, speech is not about stealthers, just a cleric and a tank.

Yep that was what I was referring too. Lag > all for both sides or three sides if 3 realms same place. The game has some issues re los/lag and dealing with the keep stuff, the open transit crap (seems better but still occurs sometimes, hi mass ld at Behn yesterday afternoon)and its a problem for all 3 realms. People finding it a little bad as can read a lot of instances from all sides with individual stories. Just pointed out Hibs have los issues too.. Bit boring all this keep zerg stuff though. :)

The targetting issue is not lag-based it is geometry. It does not just affect shrooms, but also other low graphics including Kobbies, Luris and baby croc morphs.

Anyone who exploits this needs to take a break from the game I reckon. When fair play is less important to you than a few intangible points in fantasy game that won't be around in a few years, you've lost the plot.

Sorry to ressurect this old thread, but I thought it was better than starting a new one just to update some info.

The animist TL has explained that placing shrooms in windows does not make them any more likely to be buggy than putting them anywhere else.

When you try to target a shroom in a window and it says "You cannot see your target from here" it is not a bug. It's the same as if you try to target an NPC in a window and get the same message. Windows create very narrow arcs for LoS. I suppose, thinking about it, that's the whole point of an arrow slit.

Leave the keeps the keeps and start roaming !
