1) I've received an answer from rightnow the very next day, after sending a message via it.
2) I've been on/lead raids which've got help for because of a bug, or whatever reason. Really made us all happy.

I myself can't blame them for anything, 10+ support.

Never had a single problem with their service, I've recieved answers from them the same day or the next day (no long delay so to say, shortest time being 2hrs before they answered).

so.. some peeps are prolly very unlucky, or they haven't read the faqs in the database that solves their problem (think the CSR's are getting tired of stupid questions or summat ;))

Sometimes people's cries of anguish are heard by E&E and they in turn try to contact a GM via external means. SF (not sure about the alliance situation at present), you will probably find that once or twice when you swore on /a about something not working, Para heard and tried to/succeeded in bugging Kemor into helping.

Get to know your local E&E, because sometimes they can get things moving a bit faster. They do after all have access to the GOA forums.

As for Rightnow...well...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I don't like the system. AC2 has an ingame reporting system which is far nicer. Not talking about ingame CS, but rather the fact that you can open a window and type in your report WHILE IN THE GAME. Ok, ok...so DAoC can be ALT-TAB'd somewhere along the line...but you can die while you ALT-TAB. :p

A lot of people still seem to not want to read the FAQs first though and just read any answer so they can send their question. I've had a LOT of people msg me in game with some problem or another which has the answer on the FAQ... Also, if you are sending messages, then remember to put all the details but to also classify the message, eg "Life on the Server" or "Technical Problem" etc. That helps as they can get your message to the relevant CSR/GM quickly.

I personally have never had any real problems with them either, and can usually solve my problems by just reading the FAQ.

Because having a usable support system for the standard paying customers is just far too much to expect.

It seems this method Brannor suggests relies on GOAs staff reading forums outwith their standard support hours. Be sure to organise any raids around the social life of Kemor/Zargar if you hope to get any support working around bugs :p

I've had mostly good experiences, losing my password and getting a reply 3 hours later is pretty good. But of course the bad points are always publicized more.

i get the standard "we have recived your inquiry"..
then 2 days later "we havent heard from you the last 2 days so we consider it solved!" <-- uhm so after 2 days, everyone are pardoned for exploiting?

one time i tried to outwhit the system, and after 1½ day i updated my first inquiry, and said "it still havent been resolved".. but then i got a human responce that i wasnt supposed to do that, cause they were still investigating...

guess the system beat me

anyway i had a real fun experience with RightNow once.. i asked RightNow a question about quickness & drawtime, then suddenly kemor added me to his ICQ list and asked me if i could tell him the answer... hehe had to tell him i was the one asking the question. (in the end rightnow said they didnt know, but mythic gave a vague answer that i got)

That's normal; we never give details about the actions or investigations. That doesn't mean nothing is done of course, just that now, it's between the guy(s) you reported and GOA, and that's it.

Well, you know, when dealing with complex systems such as DAOC, you can't just know every single thing.
For questions like the one above, we cannot give a precise, detailed and definitive answer unless Mythic talked about it before (via their herald usually).
However, lots of us here have quite a lot of experience with the game and are able to give information and help for most situations. This is of course different than the regular "I'm stuck" or quest problem, it's more friendly advises from people knowing, playing and working with the game.
That said, we are not spending as much time as some of you folks in the game (I mean, actually playing) and when you see some of the tools related to DAoC that some players designed (SC tool anyone?), some parsed logs, I personally think it's only showing respect for players to ask their opinion about some very specific "in game" mechanisms. You can never get a "100% sure" answer of course, but as I said above, it’s more a “friendly” advice and we usually point this out in our answers.
