Okay okay so I'm sure most of you read what happened in this thread:
https://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=36215
As you can see, neither party knew what happened, nor were we completely sure of the CoC in regards to this encounter but today I opened my e-mail and saw that GoA had responded 2 weeks ago :slaps forehead:
Note, this is not an attempt to drag up an old thread for bad reasons but instead to make it clear what is classed as 'starting the encounter' according to GoAs CoC so that future problems need not occur (and hopefully no more threads
)

Greetings,
Thank you for the query. We have investigated the incident and cannot find that you or your group have acted against the CoC. It seems that this is a genuine misunderstanding where two different groups were attempting the same encounter at the same time out of sight of each other.
As your group was first to open the chests and subsequently gained the artifact I shall not take this case further.
Yours sincerely,

Not long after 15:30GMT today on the 17th of october (excalibur server), we as a guild group ran into troubles with this artifact; not the credit gaining or the fact it dropped but instead had problems because there were two sets of groups doing it at the same time.
We arrived at the atlantis tablet encounter and were killing when we noticed a necromancer on the other side of the house beginning to kill the entrance mobs. We then moved inside and opened a chest as required to start the encounter. At this point we got the expected aggro from the mob which appeared from the chest but the necromancer then moved in and started opening the chests himself. It's known that once one chest is opened, the other chests will not spawn mobs but instead just do a direct damage spell which a necromancer pet can sustain and carry on opening, thus what happened here.
Just as we killed the mob we were on, we moved in towards opening the fifth chest (he'd opened the second, third and fourth). We then do not know who opened the chest, nor who attacked the mob which came out of it first. He is of the understanding he did but from what our group had seen, we had opened the chest and a paladin had taunted the mob on its way up to us but hit his abomination pet on its way up because he stood in the way.
We have kept the artifact in storage until this matter is resolved and will give it to him if it is not considered against the CoC for him to open the chests on an already started encounter or if the chest matter does not come out as we saw it.
His name was jimmyjr by the way
Thanks for your time.
