Ranger spec

Hi all,

I am currently looking at respeccing to piercing.

My current slash spec is as follow :

RR5L7
Breton
44 BLADES +15
25 CD + 8
Weapons : Combo Slash Champion weapon / Malice lvl 10 + Battler lvl 10
Stats when fully buffed : 298 STR, 369 DEX, 320 QUI

Without changing my current SCed / Artefact template , i would get the folllowing stat when I respec to pierce :

44 piece + 13
25 CD + 11
Weapons : Combo Pierce Champion weapon / Battler lvl 10 ( Battler would go when i get a legendary weapon)

My first question is :

Are my fully buffed stats better for slash or Pierce spec ?

and

Would i seriously gimp myself by respeccing to pierce with my current template.

well pierce is 50/50 str dex so your dmg/wpn skills should be better, however if malice procs thats basically your I WIN ability.

imo pierce is better...unless malice procs

Firstly your quickness is wayyyy to high
You get no benefit of qui over 250

Blade damage is pure STR
Pierce damage is STR+DEX divided by 2

so with your current stats you will have higher WS as a pierce user
however with regular pierce weapons will see your damge drop by 20% against shadowblades, hunters and infiltrators, you'll see a 10% increase in damage against scouts and mincers.

If you are gonna go pierce i'd recommend switching to a heat/cold leggy weapon mainhand and something like the croc tooth summoned weapon, the bladeshadow offhand, you can keep battler in your 2-hand slot for the charge.
Leggys are the only way to go if you are a pierce user.

Spec wise, I dunno if you are full melee or a hybrid ranger, but take a look at the wyrd spec results.

lower qui to 250... u dont need more. same goes fo bow.

if u want blades.. u want as high str as possible (300+)
i am blades and i have abaut 340 str 310 con 290 dex (i dont use bow at all. just to get near 300 to evade ok) and 245 qui.

i prefer more CD than blades.

50 cd
36 blades
35 stealth
12 bow
25 pf

i use cd styles only.

if u want pierce then use leggendary weapon in mainhand or in both. they are the best weapons for pierce specc.

if u plan on useing pierce styles.. go as high pierce as u can.. 44 -50 and put as much + pierce in the template as u can(+11 to temp). it will be better dmg than whit less. thats when u want to be more melee.
