Personally I've been speccing my ranger on the basis that I have enough stealth with my nightshade, so dont want to go that route with my ranger. Therefore I was going for high spec in pierc/cd/bow/pf with almost nothing in stealth. Pierce does some good damage from my nightshade, plus rangers get self buffs to improve this further. Mine would have very high bow, with great self buffs and as good a melee'r as possible. Just my 2 pence worth on the subject :)

By the way, my only doubt on my spec is how effective this camouflage RA is going to be and what spec in stealth you need to be able to use it? Can you increase your stealth spec with items to get to the required lower limit for camouflage?

My spec atm is:

stealth: 36
piercing:26
cd: 14
bow: 45
pathfinding: 40

Going to respecc to the one of the following:

blade: 34
celtic dual: 22
stealth: 32
bow: 39
pathfinding: 40

or

blade: 39
stealth: 30
pathfinding: 40
recurve: 39
celtic: 16

No need to specc above 40 in bow, 25 in piercing is not enough, you are going to get yourself killed with these specs too often. (too many assassins nowdays)

I see no reason why to not take bow to 50, as to be honest, if an assassin finds you you're dead anyway.

I dont see the reason to make a ranger. Come to Albion and make a scout :)

Assasins can kill ranger anyway, u can only run away if u use purgen. Don't know if celt can kill assasin, i'm luri and have with not capped con and hp 1155 hp, this not enought to fight assasin :)
I have now
48 bow
29 pierc
12 cd
40 path
30 stealth

1) Bow, i have 1568 wpskill with self buff(only +11bow with rr), and my wpdmg is 1603 (crafted bow, 99qua)
2) I have medium stun after evade (diamondback), after 2nd evade i have combo with bleeding and medium attack spd decrease (blinding rain -> blizzard). If target is stuned i can use side styles (copperhead -> viper's bite)
Any time styles black widow -> sidewinder

Thx all for reply :)

Bow over 40 is a waste because the difference in damage between 40 and training to 50 is something like 5% extra dmage.

Your melee should be higher and maybe take PF to 46 for that last damage add.

Bladed celts can severly batter your average solo unbuffed assasin.....

I can have a good go at them... its 50-50 for me.... poor assasins bite the dust.... good (or buffed) ones will probably still get me

Gonna hold off on using my respec for a fair while actually....

I think no greater than 30 stealth seems sensible...

30 for those that want to mix grouping with soloing.....

0 (or left overs) for grp rangers...

can't be arsed to post the link but if you go to the ranger or Hunter vn boards there is a post about going full bow. To cut a long story short a guy did some testing and found out that 27+11+4 bow is a not much worse that 50+11+4 bow in max dmg and variance. You may not want to go that low but I see no reason to take bow over 39, you can go lower if you see yourself getting more RR's.
