Random lowlife hacker on a roll

Would just like to warn everyone for some guy thats been going around hacking msn adresses. About an hour or two ago I suddenly got kicked off msn and couldn't get back because the password was supposedly incorrect - but it really wasn't. Somehow this guy changed it, logged on my msn account and has been talking to some of the people in my list.

Luckily I don't receive goa's emails for my accounts on that email adress, but would like let everyone know to be extremely careful about who to trust. Secure your passwords so you won't be next. Don't trust anything coming the Vodkafairy fh acc or legiones_alatae@hotmail.com email/msn adress, whatsoever. Preferably just delete it off your list and add my new one if you want - send pm for adress.

Would be nice if a moderator could confirm my IP so you know it's really me talking, and also if you could track down the IP (or maybe match it with a forum name) of the guy that logged on the Vodkafairy fh acc, id be very thankful

nothing happened yet and doing my best to secure my main acc's passwords.. think ill just jam a button to keep the acc permanently logged in for a long time, really cba watching 3 years go to 'waste'

apparantly whoever logged on my msn acc spoke to toblerone, but it wasnt really an in depth conversation and staj pm'd whoever logged my acc on and shortly after he vanished again

as its most likely some1 from FH did it..

just check last logged IP from Vodkafairy
and compare it with the IP of other users

nip, the guy on my acc didn't make any posts, just changed the password. also they couldn't retrieve the pw he filled in apparantly, could have tried to use that one on my old msn acc because it might be the same

as long as people you had on your list (mostly daoc wise i guess, if rl can fuck up on msn there's a problem) knows that you've been hacked, i hope no real harm will be done. Same as you i use another email just for msn to avoid that problem hope it solves mate.

aye after reading thread in midgard i changed settings so that goa would e-mail different email adress

2 days later keeps telling me msn password wrong

its easy to haxor a msn account, you learn to know someone, you add him to you msn, they login with your email and click lost pasword. Here it comes msn ask for the secret question.. for example what is your girlfriend's name? Honnest, how hard is it to retrieve that info of someone? Conclusion... if you fill the secret question answer with a lie so you can not accidentely share that info.
I tryed this on my mates account, hes Q was how's my dog's name? Hes dog named Luna there i had hes password. i meseged his wife on msn she went huh your in bed!? told her who i was and that he should change hes question.

put a question that is not easy to find out, problem solved.

an old girlfriend of me her msn got hacked, i just sended a mail for her to msn with the old pass, the old secret question and we got a new password after 3 days.

maybe u can try to do that aswell ?

Sorry to hear that VF, sucks I dont know why people bother with stealing passwords for stuff like msn, its not like he/she can gain much from them.

Msn isnt easily hackible if you are sensible and cautious. Just a few simple measures can help reduce risks with things like this, such as: Obviously virusscanner and firewall should help stop random people from obtaining details from your computer. Using more complex passwords with numbers and punctuation help alot too, and dont ever save these passwords on your computer. And not having easy answers on the password retrieval thing helps too.

Obviously you can never be 100% safe, but you can make it hard and impossible for alot of hackers to ever hack your account. An expert hacker who really knows his stuff might be able to obtain your details even if you have done the steps above, but people like that probably wouldnt be interested in your details.

Another thing which I know some people have done is switched off firewalls/virusscanners whilst playing games because it slows down the computer. The thinking behind it is that some people think that because they are connected to something like the daoc servers, that nothing else can come into the computer as they arent connected to any websites, msn etc. This is not the case... people can still send things to your ip address which can get onto your computer...

I know all this stuff sounds obvious but its surprising how many people dont think of these things.

i don't know the secret word because i didn't make the account. the adress is the name of an old Freespace 2 clan a classmate and me made, but i took over the adress after we stopped playing because he had his own already

used it for like 6 years now, im trying to get in touch with that classmate to get the pw changed :c
