Android app permissions

Just installed a permissions viewer. Some apps take the piss with what they can access on your phone. Why does a bank need to read my contacts? Not for much longer...

I'm installing App Ops

Probably dirt / small burrowing creature causing an infection. Try nhs direct, or visit a 24hr pharmacy. If bad tomorrow phone doctors

Phone up NHS direct, spend 10 minutes on hold then explain to them that you have eye aids, and not the good kind.

Rang up GP about my eye...

'we can book you in for next Wednesday or we can have someone call you back in about a hour and if they agree that it's urgent then we'll book you an emergency appointment' 'Well I'll be busy then' 'Okay then do you want that appointment next week?' 'nah forget it'

Think I'll just go to A&E later.

If it's serious you walk in to the doctors and stand in front of the secretary and say "I want to see a doctor today".

That's the best method. Get there for 8am. They have appointments for that day available (the emergency appointment) - so you either get in on one of them (because it's urgent) or it's not urgent, therefore next week is fine.

Which is it? Man up and stand up for yourself :)

Wh at about a walk in surgery? Might be less time than A&E which really is for emergencies so they won't prioritise you

Went to and opticians and a pharmacy they both told me to go to the walk in clinic.

Unfortunately, I do not have the time, since if I had the day off or left early over it, I would be pulled up for it pretty hard.

The NHS is just incredibly inefficient they moan about people cancelling appointments. Why not have a system where if someone cancels the GP auto contacts people who are waiting and then asks then if they want to come in.

Should be automated and ez as fuck.

Like any public service, it is decades out of date. Far too many middle management time wasters and box tickers.

The staff do try their best but they have to follow antiquated procedure.

Pulled up for a potentially serious problem with your eyesight? You must have a shit boss. Fuck work, get it sorted.

Try a teaching training course.

It's funny because they let us sign up to all the unions then told us the unions get involved with conduct at school, but conduct with the training proviser is a different kettle of fish.

Even if i pre warned them about it they still would be dodgy about it and will make my life hell.

BMW wing mirrors. Why are there a dozen variants for the damn things? And why has mine got the near-mythical ribbon cable bus connectors that are main stealer only and cost a bastard fortune?!

Because no modern car uses wing mirrors. That's why the cable is mythical. You're looking for door mirrors.

in a mini-'murica moment, I've just been to vote in a referendum in the city I live in. the arguments for and against were ridiculously unclear, poorly presented and if you thought about it the council should have manned up and made a decision rather than leaving it to the people. more time was spent on mutual smear campaigns and revealing shitty things about the yea / nay parties' inner workings and/or members than actually trying to inform the public of anything. good times. -.-

Maybe things have changed and I was mostly in private schools. but we'd've got the sack, in the state ones too.
