House goblins

Lamp should have done the washing up tonight. Instead he said he needed a poo and sat in the bathroom playing Osmos. When he came down the washing up was done.. .

I agree - winnie never really accounted for the death of that kid - I can barely remember it now but will dig out the details.

Edit - Stompie Mkoetse - poor kid - and a bunch of other allegations.

I want to post about how shitty I feel when I see first hand how bad some people's jobs are (Experienced half a day of volunteer-esque work), how bad the circumstances are, the pay, the hours and the general treatment. But due to the press, I can't..

Meh.

The bullying in some of those situations is deplorable. People with a Hitler complex trying to flex their muscle

Getting kicked, accidentally but highly accurately, by my three year old, right in the plums. It's two hours later and it still hurts enough to make me feel sick.

The throaty cunt that does the announcements on the BBC. He is enough of a reason to pirate TV.

HD. What a load of fuss about crap

With a smaller crappier resolution all my movies look great

With my HD screen I cant find anything anywhere. Most of the stuff has been compressed too much, or there are no seeders for old shows like Gods of the Arena, or the sites are blocked. Sod this. I'm going to eat worms.

Stick it in gold/equities so it's currency neutral. Cash is for mugs.

Except gold is massively inflated (2 to 3 x) and will eventually fall. It was a safe haven during the crash. There are better commodities out there that will be more stable once currencies stabalise.

You know that dodgily encoded, illegally downloaded content isn't the best way to showcase "HD", riiiiiiight? Put a BluRay in and then try complaining.

It already has fallen nearly a quarter from its peak and will continue down - demand has dropped and supply is fixed.

Right, hence my /equities. Gold may or may not fall, but if you have your assets partially in gold and a handful of other asset classes you are FAR more likely to be neutral versus currency fluctuations. Putting all your wealth into any one thing is idiocy, including houses or cash.

Old shows are probably not going to have been recorded in HD anyway. Put a DVD on and compare it to a bluray. Night and day. @Lamp

True, but some of the properly remastered movies look fantastic in 1080p. Patton and Seven Samurai spring to mind. Speaking of TV shows, I have the remastered BluRay boxset of World at War and it also looks awesome. There's very little motivation to remaster old sitcoms and stuff though, they probably won't bother releasing them on anything but DVD.

Interesting (if brief) look at the World at War restoration...

Errrf, three mental drivers today.

The first, the lightest of them all, a Audi Woman going left lane of a slip road at a round about and coming off on exit #5 in the right lane, skipped the traffic, but almost got wiped out.

Second, a Heavy Highways Agency lorry driving in thick fog in the middle of the road with no lights on, almost wiped me out.

Third, and the winner by a long shot, an old chap doing a 3 point turn on the junction between two 60mph roads, if he hadn't have been reversing when i took the junction (at about 30) i'd have killed him for sure, as it was, able to react quick enough to swerve left off the road onto a farm track and back onto the road before i hit a tree.

This is the junction for those interested. I've placed the marker where the guy was as I came off the road from the south. map

I get the feeling I just attract danger at times.....

Country roads are the most dangerous for this sort of stuff - at least you and car are ok.

The Highways agency guy should get nicked for dangerous driving with no lights in fog.

Heavily weighted (or even discretely locked down) furniture in fast food restaurants. Not enough chairs around that table? Let me just grab this one...

I use my PS3 controller...not ideal but better than nothing!

You have to use a program called Motionjoy to get it to work properly and then configure it.

Cyclists who undertake just as you are entering a roundabout. I swear some of them are actually trying to kill them selves.
