So i fancy upgrading from 4GB-8GB but is it worth it?

I did a scan from Crucial website and it came up with

# Maximum Memory Capacity: 8192MB
# Currently Installed Memory: 4GB
# Available Memory Slots: 0
# Total Memory Slots: 4
# Dual Channel Support: Yes
# CPU Manufacturer: AuthenticAMD
# CPU Family: AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor Model 2, Stepping 3
# CPU Speed: 1150 MHz

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-8500,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 4GB kit (2GBx2) per slot.*

I want to go for the PC2-8500 and i was just going to buy their RAM link

4GB kit (2GBx2), Ballistix 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-8500 upgrades for ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe Motherboard, CT1196776 from Crucial.com

Would come to around £200 give or take.

Thoughts from the tech heads?

Seems about right, though I have always been a fan of OCZ memory over anything else. Should be around the same price.

DDR2 has gone up a lot in price, so I doubt it's worth it. I upgraded to 8Gb when it was £100 for 4Gb.

How many 64 bit apps do you use? Do you do any serious multi-tasking? They will be the only ones that can use it.

I doubt it'll make any significant difference to performance in games. Certainly not worth £200 IMO.
