I know this one has been posted somewhere before, but wtf, its for a good purpose.

http://www.yeggs.net/underfoot/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=general_rvr;action=display;num=1017328915

After tonight in Thidranki where I amongst a few helped carry parts cross the lands only to hear from people like Smave and Leonheart about how they could do it sooo much better than our assembler Fethers.

You guys can go get your own ram, set it up and take the bloody keep yourself, bet you're SO elite enuff to do it, heck, yer a pure two man army you guys.

Ever thought about Fethers who kept up trying to get parts for bout 1.5h, trying to get ppl to help him carry and so on, thought about you two spamming with caps about that bloody ram, the absence of one or the lack of competence, which I am sure YOU had.

I for one am used to every Knights Templar I meet everywhere acting as a good rolemodel for the rest of the albs, guess there has to be some shit in the bag aswell huh?

Well, next time, Smave, Leonheart, you two bring the ram, set it up, crack the doors, and fight off the mids at the same time. GL & HF to you.

Bloody sad!

I apologise for their behaviour Saryasha, please, do not judge The Order on the actions of a few on one evening. I think that chaos set in once we had more than 40 people there. Our infiltrator hit squad fell apart because a few wanted to group with guild mates; a silly decision in my view, as our 8 person infiltrator squad easily held the bridge for a long time.

We simply devided, and were conquered. For some very strange reason, I saw a lot of faces I'd never seen there before, running around the outside of the keep, deliberately attracting the perimeter guards and running back to the gate. That, was quite sad. :(

There were too many people trying to command. Too many expecting respect and authority that had neither helped drive the Midgardians back and prepare for the raid, nor had been given the right to command. I simply continued to slit throats. I must say, I do so enjoy hunting with you. Those three poor Hibernians that you slew, and then I slew without unstealthing. :)

Towards the end. <sigh> Oh how sad it was to see our realm mates charge down the hill from the portal keep and into the water; into the waiting arms of the Midgardians.

<shakes head sadly>

Such is life, and we shall oneday overcome them.

<bows and slides back into the shadows>

What????? Did't you take the keep? That infil squad was a pain in the ass, and made alot of mids quit thid, since as fast as they got out of the pk they where dead....

But hey got some payback later during the siege...

Wonder when they are goin to fix the los bug, was halfway up the keep tower when Gedan was still pelting me with arrows.

I've asked the same thing when albs where holding the keep, but have't got a good answer. And i have sent the question to Kemor a week ago, but no answer yet.

But you wont find me there during battle, more fun to run around on the battlements...

You're doing good from where ever you are shooting Fafne :p No need to change pos :p

And I don't judge the Order, since I know for example Hendrick amongst others from way back and know what a genuine, strict guild it is, thats why I'm surprised that these people kept spamming so hard I nearly shut off the say/yell channel.

Last time, no spam, had full control, this time, chaos. Pwyiw should have taken charge from the start imo, he has a clue and the patience to handle it. Tho, who would wanna stick his hand into that snakepit :>

Aye, loved those hibs that were watching the mids run from us and got in the way themselves, had a great laugh :)

Roalith, I sent my thoughts at that moment directly to Hendrick as he's the one of the templars that I know best. :)

[sarcasm]
Xxxxxxxx:e "AYE YEAH BRING DOWN THE DOOR, HIT IT, BURN IT, WHERE IS THE F*XXING RAM"
Zzzzzzzz: "OI BRING THE RAM THEN, USE IT ON THE FIRST DOOR WHEN IT HAS 2% HP LEFT PLZ THIS TAKES HOURS"
Ooooooo: "Mids Inc to MB"
Xxxxxxxx: "OH YER STOOPID, YOU GOTTA ROTATE THE FKXING RAM 180 DEGREES"
Zzzzzzzz: "ROTATE THE RAM; HIT THE DOOR."
Zzzzzzzz: "DEAD, REZZ ME REZZ ME REZZ MREZMERMZERM"
Xxxxxxxx: "AYE, YOU'RE 4 CLERICS RSSING 10 DEAD PEOPLE PER MINUTE; RESS US FIRST!"
[/sarcasm]

Mmkay... with that kind of BS scrolling by as fast as it can, since I guess some tanks (or whatever) just don't have anything else to do while beating that darn door, how easy is it to see the important line in there, I trust some people might be able to prioritize there.

And yes I did quit the Chatgroup due to to spam that could have been taken in groupchat.

One initiative that was good was Asirys... or however he spelled who got that Infil group going, and that doesn't surprise me much since us Infs has to work as a group to get something done against a larger group of mids, standing there beating a door doesnt take much thought :>

And yes, I'm born a bitch so please judge me :)

Next time Pwiyw, we'll nail them even harder, if you just find that Natt for me, cause I cant :( Slippery as... oil... tho, IF I find him, PA him for a 100... then hit him for 20.. lol... he hits me back for 150-200 :p

Well I have to say that was far and away THE best night i've ever had in the BG, and a big thank you to the albs for maintaining the assault as long as they did (3hrs I think?)

We did assume you guys were having problems just by the sheer amount of scrolling 'in another language' messages and the fact that quite a few Mids made it in the door (including our Shaman who lagged over the battlements and still got back in :m00: )

Oldnick I mentioned about standing on the roof when the Albs captured the fort on the first day and was told it's a perfectly legal jump, so dont be surprised when our guys do the same (I prefer running the battlements myself). In fact it probably falls in the same class as Theurgs spamming air pets through the doors and over the battlements.

Oh and a big hand to Brayri(sp?) and Redrummy who kept the Mid force inside alive and kicking, if you got Rp's for rezzes you'd have both been out inside an hour

Well...can I flame now? ;)

Monday night's Thidranki was superb. Us infiltrators worked superbly to drive the middies back.

Tonight? We started the same. Any middies that showed his face died. I recall the bridge squad taking down Broke (Skald) before he even had a chance to draw his weapon. <laughs> Silly person running straight over the bridge...3/4 PA's later he's chewing rock.

Anyway, I must say, I was...hmm...what word to use...amused yet despondent at what happened last night. The initial group set up the evening for a Keep take, and of course, we needed numbers. The call went out for others to come, and lots came. But, unfortunately, they seemed to think they were summoned to take over the show.

What ensued was groups operating by themselves. Nobody helping the ram team (sorry guys, but I'm a weak little infil) and people more interested in getting rps/kills than actually taking the keep.

A little info for you non-infils out there. Saryasha has 28 stealth. Pwyiw has 27, and I have 26. Saryasha is invaluable at tracking down SB's, and Pwyiw, well, he has suicidal tendencies sometimes. :p With that kind of stealth, we can see those SB's quite easily. But, we have to be 2/3 to take down an SB. Minstrels and scouts, guys, if we can see you from far away, their SB's can too. Mages, man, do you know how easy it is to take out a few of you in the space of a few seconds if you're all sitting with your backs to them? I watched Saryasha take down 2 (or 3?) Hibs fast. As infils, we're no good at hunting down SB's if alone. And believe me, if they don't decloak after a kill, forget it, Natt, Cabo and one or two others will simply take a slow jog into the water.

Also, Mids, consider yourselves damn lucky that we are unable to climb the walls in Thid. Because the raid would have been over very fast if we could have.

As for the spamming. Well. I myself expected better of The Order. Standing on the bridge hearing a Templar running around yelling "Invite me plz!!", well, that's not right. But, the only issue is that he is from an RP guild, and should have behaved better. Anyway, to the other groups of people that pitched later (22H00+), please, some of us were there for 3 hours already preparing for the raid. Simply arriving and "taking over the show" gets very few people listening to you. I honestly don't care who your main character is. You could be Kemor for all I care, it still wouldn't make me listen to you. Respect in Thidranki is earned, not bestowed. Hell, half the people in Thidranki that have my respect are Mids.

To end off. Why are the Hibs so weak? No, seriously. Besides that Aoska dude we all heard of a while back, oh and Halo, who else from them has actually achieved anything before dying fast? Saw quite a few last night, but they didn't seem to have much success. <shrugs>

Be assured that you did not send to deaf ears, vajb. But also keep in mind that the battlegrounds are training spots for people who never did much RvR before, and you have to allow them to make mistakes and learn from them. That's what the battlegrounds are for. From the little I have heard, it sounds as if you were missing some leadership and organisation, which in turn should have taught all attending people a lesson or two.

And for all those interested in siege-engine, check out
Hendrick's guide to successful ramming :)

Oh...had to add...the last hour or so... (00H00 - ).

I was patrolling the river bank (Alb side) over coming back from a release and proceeded to see a whole lot of Albs trying to retreat across the river. They were shredded by skalds and others. Then, after they had chased the few remaining Albs to the PK, the swam back across the river and waited while I assume someone repaired the doors. Then, I saw a new batch of Albs come storming down the hill and straight into the water, moments later the slaughter that had preceeded their arrival was repeated. As sad as it was. I had to laugh.

This one's for those Albs... :m00: ...:m00: ...:m00: ...:m00:

If the development from Thid keeps up, all we will face in rvr will be huge numbers of infils running around... Never seen so many infils at the same time before. But hey i made it to the keep alive ran over the bridge where i died 4 times earlier, up and around the keep. Tried to pull some of you albs on me, but no. Had to kill three casters before you reacted. And then i just let you kill me..

Btw who was the lone caster that came after me, but manage to run away after i got your health down to half. Dam hate that freeze spell, that slows me down...

I don't think many of the infils will make it past Thidranki. Most were created just for that. My infil on the other hand, is being bred for high level RvR. This is just my sandbox. ;)

Actually no, the doors seem to self repair after a given period of time. When I came outside they were open, then then a quick run round and they were closed with no HP's, then while I was stood there they gained 25% with no one stood by them. And TBH although it saved us those doors really are too damned hard to break.

Perhaps we shall upgrade them to lvl 10.... :) That would be fun for the albs to break down...

I did not think it was a great RvR night in thid
Was dull and boring, did not help only being L20 :)

And as for people who use bridges :) silly people :)

The amount of Pets that constantly came through the gates was stupid (i think they fix this in 1.51 well i hope they do) and the Ammount of AE spells cast on the gatekeepers was stupid I hope this is fixed soon.
And i know they fixed the lame lets put as many people as we can on the gate keeper to stop people getting in.. If you had proper Perimeter guards you do not need to use this lame tactic.

But yes most of the people in Thid will cease to be played once they reach rp limit..
Assassin types have a hard time getting groups (ever more so post L25) unless they have alot of guild/friend support to group with..

Nah, don't think the pet thing gets fixed, or should be for that matter. If the guards can run out through the doors, then pets should be allowed to run through as well. Beside's, SM pets are spirits, and theurgists send elementals...which can shift "phase" to get through the doors.

If you want to stop pets, make it that NOTHING, no guards, no arrows, no spells, go through the doors. And I'm sure you want that. ;)

Didn't get much scouting for sbs done tho, since I ate grass most of the times, wasn't just one time I took the decision to bite the jarls sword to get rid of yet another SB, good thing I got my personal resser after a while since I made dying a habit.

My great thanks to Salin, you're a rock!

The hibs, yes, I got the luri caster, someone helped me with the bard, and the fighter ran, lol :)

Most of the hib SBs don't get the respect they deserve, like Natt for example, lol, watched like 2-3 casters who were sitting, regenning, just fall apart on a straight line, I was a few feet away, didn't see nothing but the falling bodies.

Now, with some respect they prob could have lived a few secs longer, seems we do have to stack 2 infs on top of each resting caster :>

Hendrick, Yes, organisation we lacked, was pretty much just a bunch of people that wanted the keep, the problem was the OTHER bunch of people that came to "help out" but instead made chaos.

Wouldn't have mattered if there was someone there "in charge" since from the looks of it they didn't care much bout anything but to get that very cool ram up and hitting something so that they could be the ones taking this marvelous keep. :p

If you yelled/told them to keep it quiet so that others could be able to report all you got back was an swift brushoff.

And this yelling lots of unimportant crap while beating at the door can't have much to do with the actual type, there're types that yell, which we encountered last night alot, there are types that bitch alot (me) when they come across something that's far off base.

Well, I think I speak for most albs who were there to actually have a serious GO at the keep (the initial 30 ppl?), that next time there won't be no bloody fuss!

Seems lots of people have "dinged out" of Thidranki, but no one has appeared in murd, that's sad, since it brings a new glow to assassin classes due to ability to climb, for those who care to spec in it :p

Sure hope people will level tho, this is fun when it works out half good :)

Well, I'm off for work, sigh...

Give'em a whoopin tonight Pwyiw & Brannor ;)

Yes, from certain moment things started to fall apart. I expected mids to come as soon as we started meleeing doors + 20 minutes, but it took them more than 3 hrs to gather ;P

Some suggestions
1) When raid is due leaders of group form a CG to pass important information
2) NO say or yell unless its important - for example: 2FG mid inc MB ! use /send
3) ram team - highlanders that's where u shine ;) and try to melee door before building ram - if you cannot hit door ram won`t be able too ;P
4) Pet casters - spam your pets on defenders _always_.

And here's a counter tip from the Mids, because we have no PBAE yet and only the SM with a warpable pet we have to use the best alternatives we have.

So allowing we have at least 1 runie inside the keep, when a pet comes through the walls we need a skald or thane to bolt it and pull the pet to the door. Once it's at the door the runies can target the pet using AE spells. I know we need more practice but on the occasions we did get them to the door my AE debuff followed by a secondary AE was causing huge amounts of damage to scroll past.

Maybe this is a good time starting a list of players who you can contact if there's a serious attempt at a keep take/defence, if we get 30 people who has their mind set on just one thing - the objective, to keep it, or take it, we would succeed.

If there are 30 more people not having a clue atleast those first 30 would give alb a chance.

And those people stay responsible for bringing rams, setting up groups and so on.

A pro would be if these people to continue to play on Murd after Thidranki, cause I know I will, already got a cpl of chars there :>

Off for work, take care ppl

But how do you know when to release? You could release when it's out of view but you wont be doing much damage or you could release shortly after you realise we've dropped a couple of 100+ AE nukes into your Ram team

Horse, stable door, bolt etc :p

last night i was shamed to be from albion.

fethers made a mistake, it was his first poor time bless him at making a ram, so i told him how to make it (one step away etc...), and he didn't realise he needed tools, so we got them all for him, and he tried to make it. he made it too far away, **** happens everyone, its NOT HIS FAULT. the rams a re a pain to operate anyway, but we have stored one for another time now, and we will take that keep by god one day :)

the main problems:

spammers

OMG, ive never seen anything like it. the amount of public spam was stupid, i dont wanna hear you all say "For albion!" if you wanna say that, go tell the masters of runes down by the mid PK, you were a sodding pain in the arse the whole time, please, be quiet on the next one so important messages to get through.

helpers

the ram team consisted originally of:

me, feathers.

that was it. between us, fethers had one str buff and i was just encumbered carrying stuff, i asked time and time again for an ench cleric to help us but none did :( never mind, i hope next time we will get more helpers to form the team.

the real irritating thing was though, when suddenly about 20 albs dissappeared, when we brought a new ram. omg, where did you all go :( that really hit the second ram team hard, id really like to say thankyou to the second team, the ram is still kept and will be used again, thankyou for all coming back to help us take it to thid, shame that the force all ran away.

some good stuff:

when we had problems, like feathers forgot the ram building equipment, we asked for the things needed and we got it, you stars for bring extra equipment. thankyou

generally, you were all really good about the doors when we messed up the ram, as asked you all left the door so that me and fethers could get through and setup, nice one :)

the infil team. i talked to most of htem quite a lot, and helped them out a bit :) the whole area was under watch and it was great to see such a force stopping the mids, you did us proud by getting them all.

one thing, i highly resent this comment:
Wouldn't have mattered if there was someone there "in charge" since from the looks of it they didn't care much bout anything but to get that very cool ram up and hitting something so that they could be the ones taking this marvelous keep. :p

we wanted that keep, you didn't help us with ram parts, getting it there, you dont have experience using one otherwise you would probably have volanteered(sp?), or have probably no idea whats needed to make one. if your gonna be helpful, how about next time you get some wood and help us build it, building hte ram would have got us into that keep, we failed because we didn't get it setup, ill tell you what, you melee the door and destroy it thatway while i build a ram, lets see who does more damage eh?

a ram is hte only way of getting into this keep it seems.

thanks to the mids at the end though after the raid, was quite fun at the alb bridge for about an hour while we all kinda went nuts at you and the infil brigade kept poking you by your keep. i think i might have killed your healer with Sma when we both went for hte same target, sorry about that, didn't mean to end your fun so early :/

we will be back.
