Raising the (yellow) bar

Having a bit of a brain fart over the whole power bar thing, here are my conclusions at the moment, if there are any glaring errors please can some kind soul (or some uber know it all) let me know.

Power as best I can figure is approx twice your casting stat (in my case piety), you can then add to this power bonus's from items, which as I understand have a cap of 26 a la resists (half level plus one).

There are also several Realm Abilitys that change power and this is where I come unstuck,

To me the best bets seem to be Mystic Crystal Lore and Raging Power and obviously their Augmented Acuity pre-requists as these restore fairly sizeable (or all) chunks of the yellow bar, although being on timers are limited.

However I am still left pondering the other RA's that would suggest they raise the amount of maximum power you can have

Augmented *casting stat* adds 6 per level to your casting stat (and therefore I assume 12 to pow), this I figure is the best one to go for as it raises your base stat and therefore cap

Then we have Serenity with the gloriously vague desciption of 'your spell points regenerate faster', is this ability worth it? I'm a classic 48/24/6 pac healer (or will be soon) and the last POM seems to do the job but every little helps I suppose, any comments on how much faster power restore with this would be helpful

Finally we have Etheral Bond, an extra 3% power per level(I assume calculated using base casting stat), seems to be the weakest as at my current 120 or so base pie its only an extra 7 approx power per level.

Sorry for rambling on, but any advice on most economic way of increasing the all important yellow bar welcome.

Next week I will be confused by Spellcrafting

Serenitys effect is equivilant to half a purity.

So

Seren 2 = Purity Of Mind
Seren 4 = Purity of Thought
Seren 5 = PoT.5

I know the effect stacks with healers purity, but i really can't recommend you take this RA any further than lvl 2 even if your a gimpy mend spec healer with only 4 in pac... oh wait, thats me

I tried EB once, like most of the %age RA's it makes a lot more difference if you have a high Pow bar to start with, but to be honest i could only squeeze an extra minor heal out of myself with EB2 (notice a pattern here), its probably more effective again at higher lvl's but then again it costs more as well.

Aug acuity is a good one to go for, i think just about every healer has this.

MCL kicks ass, raging power i can't really comment on never having had it (incidentally MCL has no pre-quisit, RP has MCL2 as a pre) i like the idea of a 100% mana regain, but the whole 'in combat' thing seems a little redundent when you think about it if a healer is in combat (assuming he's being attacked) then its kind of wasted....

Still, with RA's its more a matter of opinion about what you think would be best suited for your character.

Thanks for the advice Archeon, I was looking at raging power as MCL appears to stop working if your group is in combat plus as they are on seperate timers there may be a time both are needed (slim I admit)

There are basically two ways to decide on a power RA, same as with a health RA. Basically, which gives the most benefit over time, and which gives the most benefit in an emergency.

In terms of benefit over time, id say MCL1,Serenity1,MCL2,Raging Power, Serenity2. That is looking purely at how many points of power you will recieve over a 30 minute period if you use all of them, per RSP spent.

However, when looking at benefits in an emergency the only one of these that is really much use is Raging Power, even though you have to wait 30 minutes to re-use it. MCL can be used in a semi combat situation, such as keep defence, but you have to select yourself as target and spam the button a bit.

However, all that said, Aug Acuity 1> than the lot of them, 6 points of Piety for 1 RSP is cheap as chips.

MCL stops working if you're in combat i.e. if you've just stunned/mezzed/healed. It works fine if everyrbody else is merrily bashing away and you're not. I think it was fixed in the latest patch.

MCL2 now seems to pump out more power than before the patch, though as I only got it a few days before the patch, I could just be hallucinating.

My current list of RAs is as below, and works very well. I'm looking to get Perfect Recovery as my next RA

MCL2
Aug Acuity2
Serenity2
Wild Healing
Mastery of Healing
Regeneration
