Congratulations!
/salute and bow to all who were there
i won t post any specific credits this time because they always leave someone forgotten and unfairly out in cold.
all in all i can only say: i logged back on at 22.15 cet to find our forces in disarray in emain and DC taken. i was somewhat drunk, angered and just decided to go with the head through the wall and see if albion would follow. i msgd all the usual suspects and asked them if they were ready. everyone pretty much said: thx howabout some minimum advance warning but what the hell we drop what we re doing.
/enter army of albion in 25minutes
15minutes after starting the organization an RL friend (unguilded) phones me and tells me they re shouting it all over lyoness. arf, security breach. keep cool. mids didn t exploit similar on the first raid. i distributed rams from vault and ported over and we got going around 23:00 cet. scouts were at yggdra and reported all quiet, while i gave a siltent prayer it stay that way.
when we obtained merlins staff a fast team of 2FG raced it home while the rest of the army tried to stay in control of the relic keep. unfortunately some aggrod the respawned named guards and the charged the keep. the position getting uncontrollable we lost the keep within about 5minutes as men went down faster than they could be ressed. not prepared to give up we gathered the army in sauvage and odin s gate and regrouped. odysseus observed vindsaul and informed me of the names of all defenders (almost) so i knew we were up again about 20 with 2-3 aoe mezzers maximum.
the rest can only be described with the words Kcinimodus of Dve found:
we re organised, we re disciplined and we re lethal.
we chose an approach through the tight trees NE of grailerhorn and we pulled 6 uberguards and dispatched them before the midgard defenders realized we had returned. Lukas quickly grabbed the horn of valhalla in the chaos and handed it to Herbal Remedy to carry it home, escorted by the army that bore the victory home.
i logged in the solace of outer snowdonia, my head felt like a steamtrain had run over it and i couldn t sleep for about 2 hours after.
respect to xanatea for having at least tried and /salute to the brave few who died on the slopes of grailerhorn.
@Fatbelly, Shade and Xanatea: this game isn t over with lv50. it is a wargame about organization and social networking. i hope you will wake up and settle differences. as leaders you will be flamed and often have a thankless and misunderstood task. there will be conflicts and your egos and attitudes will get in your own ways, as you anger allies or ignore them at the wrong moment. still leadership has to be taken and not given and it is the most rewarding experience offered in DAoC if all goes well.
i wish killgorde luck on his alliance and i hope you find the strength we found in our defeat or midgard will break and fall over this.
/em misses the forrest of svealand where it all started.
