Wireplay has it's own community Radio, just wondering why game.net cant have one? A shoutcast radio station run by some dedicated DJ's and hosted by game.net. Wireplay do it, and they don't even pay a subs (even though its worth it even without the radio here :p)
Anyway, tis just a thought.

It doesn't fit the system?

Edit; I'll donate some bandwidth to this though if anyone fancies doing some broadcasting.

Shoutcast radio is for CS'ers and children with too much time.

Generalisations rock. (That was supposed to be tiny, fucking vbb code.)

i didnt think wireplay hosted it.

i was under the idea that it was just a hobby that some of the community did using their own bandwidth, who takes turns to play music (all of which is shit btw :p they wouldnt accept my requests of celine dion :( )

wireplays community is much smaller so everyone was able to get involved

well, Wireplay host the server for free as far as i know, they just need to upload to the server in the usual SC way.

Well, you do kinda, depends how good you are, u can use various ways to digitally mix mp3's use mic's for shoutouts etc etc. It's just quite fun :)

It's been done before, tried, died. When shoutcast was first released (ooh, 1997-ish?) there was b0rkFM which featured many of the BarrysWorld/UK Quake gang. It even had some firsts for the medium (eg, Afterglows afternoon breakfast call-in show).

It was good initially but interest soon wanes - it takes a lot of effort and dedication to keep it going.

b0rk waned in general tbh. Look at the site these days, its dismally inactive.

Anyway, I don't want to hear nurds talking about counterstrike, between the latest poptastic tunes, rat fans!
Also, the royalties issue ($250/500 a year for anything under 200 listeners) is likely to deter any plans for new radio stations.
