RA3 problems.

I'm confuzled. I've just finished downloading rocket arena. I installed it, went to run it, Q3 started up as normal, screeen went grey as normal then...it exited, with the console open with the messege:

"User Interface is version 6, expected 3"

I'm running the latest Q3 patch and I've updated all my drivers and such recently. What am I doing wrong? Specs are athalon 800, 128mb ram, live 5.1 SB, 3D prophet 4500.

Q3 on its own runs perfectly. Don't suppose anyone can hint to me what I'm doing wrong?

I'm assuming you've not had RA3 installed prior to this so:

Are you sure you downloaded the full version?

If you've installed what is basically the patch (about 50Mbs) then you'll need to d/l the entire client file, which is about 90Mbs.

nope, got the 80-odd meg version.

Dunno if this is relevent, but Quake rally does it as well. No other mods (Read - Catch the chicken) does it.

I do remember there being a problem with RA3 and some map pk3 files. Try emptying your arena & baseq3 folders of all non-essential pk3 files, then try it again...

Well you can try putting in your pk3 files one at a time until you nail the culprit, cos generally it was only a few pk3 files that the problem arose from.
