And the stone was given to HIS group, to do with as they please, the lotto was between the groups. No one in his group needed, the other groups all got there fair share of the stones to do with as they please too.

Kagato, your post lacked any real point. You accuse me of being petty and pedantic. So what, the beginning of the post was a bit pedantic but I don't see where I was petty, and the main thrust of the post (the part that you didn't have any answer to) was that yes, HIS group did get the stone, none of them needed it so they should have given it to another group that did. Sorry to repeat what I have already said once, but Kagato's post gave the impression that it made a point against me when it didn't.

Not really no.
Case no one needs drops anymore :p
and you dont need that lot of people to get "any other drop" so you dont waste other people (that are there for the stones) time getting "any other drop"

Personally I think that when the stone was handed to the group, any one of them could have laid claim to it for made up reasons. None of them did and it was lottoed fair and square..

It's not as if he hoodwinked everyone else to go make some cash from selling it.

Perfectly fair enough

Hang on a minute.

Surely if this guy is being selfish...

Then so is everyone who is hanging on to the several plat they have that they don't need right at this very moment?

Even worse are those that will only hand over their gold in return for items.

How is plat anything other than just another drop that you cannot craft?

So the original poster won a stone they do not need.

Some-yet-unidentified-buyer has won cash they did not need.

So by the bizarre pseudo-logic of this thread, they are both evil for offering to trade. Instead the original poster should give his stone for free to the cash rich individual; similarly the cash rich individual should be giving his plat, for free, to the individual who currently has the stone?

Buying stuff is actually part of the game you know.

EDIT: Extending this to the logical conclusion.... I *need* a new house. A really f***ing big house. irl. You all have money. Therefore you are all selfish gits for not immeadiately mailing me cheques so I can buy my house.

I agre with Kagato, its just a drop if no guildie has a real need for it. Put it on trade forum and I bid on it.

Look at it from another point of view.
When I'm in DF with a group I get Diamond seals.
I don't really need them, but other people in the goup want them.
However I don't give seals to people as a habit (well I DO give any seals less than diamond away and any magic items I don't want anymore for free all the time, I gave away my old mace and shield last night to a lowerlevel cleric who was very grateful).
But I DO sell my diamond seals for 10gp a piece, which is the going rate.
What's the diference between that and respec stones?

When it comes to loot distribution, it´s need before greed, no question. When there is no *need*, the guy who won it can do with it whatever he wants.
There are dozends of ROG drops and other nice stuff being auctioned in the trading forums. Apparently, nobody wanted those drops when they dropped. Now what? Are all those sellers selfish bastards? Does that mean the guy who got the drop should have run around in AC yelling: "anyone needs a [insert drop here]!!!" until he finally found someone? Then give it to him for free? Because selling stuff that other someone else needs badly is evil? RA stones are being glorified these days.

If you don't like capitalism, move out to China. Let's see how much DAoC you'll be playing there.

If no-one in his group needed it, it was only fair and square to lotto the damn thing and then let the winner do with it as he pleases.

If any group out there actually NEEDED more then the 2 allocated
respec stones, then they earned it to pay for the respec stone, as it clearly means they're a bunch of lazy dogs not bothered enough to read up on the game and spec right from the first time...serves em right. After all, IT IS game cash you know, bits and bytes, which can be gained by spending some time farming. Not like they're taking your Sunday allowance/hard earned cash...

And don't use the argument of Mythic changed/nerfed a certain line, cause free respecs are given out when class altering changes are made...

Can the communist community give it a rest plz.

Capitalism >>> Communism

In recent 'rationalisation after the fact' news, Mythic announced that respecs are only given out in response to nerfs. Class or spec line improvements don't cut it.

Sources at Mythic towers indicated that indirect nerfs, such as the archer ability "Blade turn? pfft", the Hibernian realm ability "Vapourise all Cabalists (AoE)", or the replacement of albion pygmy tanglers with an "uber relic guard" holiday camp, will not be considered true 'nerfs' and as such the classes affected will not recieve a respec.

In a statement made at a press conference yesterday afternoon, a Sanya Thomas was quoted as saying "omg ffs go kill the dragon noobs".

There are always others whom need stones. Don't need to be restricted to guild.

That is a bit over the top, but there are some out there who say, 'One realm, one goal.' And there are others who say, 'Me, me, oh and me.'

CLASS CHANGES AND 1.62

Because 1.62 has so many sweeping changes to so many classes, we are designating this a "class balance patch" and will be granting single line respecs to everyone in the game (level 5 and above) regardless of class or Realm. In the future, when we do a major "class balance patch" such as this one (and designate it as such), we'll adhere to this new policy of giving out single line respecs.

Things to remember when using this type of "gift" single line respecs:

- YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN THE RESPEC IF if you already have 2 unused single respecs, or if your character has a full respec that you haven't used.

- THE RESPEC WILL BE STRIPPED FROM YOUR CHARACTER if you do not use it before the next time you level. If you want to use the respec, use it immediately after logging in; otherwise you risk leveling and losing the respec.

All Assassin classes in 1.62 who had the See Hidden Realm Ability will have that ability stripped from their character and have the points invested in it returned to them, for use in specializing in any other Realm Abilities they wish (including re-investing in See Hidden if they so choose).

I rest my case...

The range at which it works will in future depend upon the stealth spec of the gimp^H^H^H^H archer it is displaying.

As mentioned in the 1.62e test patch notes, we have modified how the See Hidden ability interacts with Archer classes. We've varied the range that an assassin can see a non camouflaged hidden archer anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 of the current range depending on the archer's stealth spec vs the assassin's level. On average this means that an assassin will have to be within about 1/2 the range that he can see the archer from compared to how the system works currently on the live servers.

Restrikt to guild/realm!!

naah, I restrict to friends, if friends do not need it, I sell it. But I never sell to a friend, they will get it always for free, just like I buy stuff to give to friends.

From the moment crafters start to charge 250 gold to imbue (not even overcharged!!) a level 25 staff with an imbue cost of 37 gold and ask that from a level 22 player......

Need for some is Greed!

An un-camoflagued archer or minstrel with 50 effective stealth (e.g. 34+11+5) is now visible at 850 range instead of 3000+. Big deal. Still impossible to come near a milegate and still requires makes lining up for a perf absolutely free from the interference of "fast reactions" and "skill".
